裡維埃拉飯店(Hotel Riviera)

Although my family and I haven't stayed at Hotel Riviera overnight, we frequent Sidmouth often as we have a house nearby. However, we couldn't resist sharing our experience, primarily because of one outstanding individual: Anthony. Every time we visit the Hotel Riviera, Anthony's warmth and genuine hospitality never fail to impress us. He goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and valued. Anthony truly embodies the spirit of hospitality. Despite not being guests at the hotel, Anthony treats us like VIPs every time we walk through the door. His professionalism and friendliness are a real asset to the Hotel Riviera, and we believe he sets the standard for exemplary customer service.

This is the second time this winter we decided to take a cream tea here. It was so relaxing and worth the little extra for a wonderful service. Thanks to Norman. We have been on most cafes and many restaurants in Sidmouth. But this is the place to really chill and feel so near to the sea. Is there any room for improvement? The scones are smaller than average for Devon, but Devon sets a high bar. It won’t stop us coming again because this is a special place.

Over 70 years I have stayed in many hotels around the world and this is one of the best. They could not do enough for you, from the concierge welcome to the chef’s wonderful touch in the kitchen even catering for my personal requirements. Beautiful decorated bedrooms and soft furnishings. Save up and treat yourselves to a quality hotel.

We stayed overnight at The Hotel Rivera on our walking holiday and after a day of hiking what a treat. The staff are all really welcoming and the hotel is very smart and comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and the food was fabulous, we shall remember this short but memorable stop over on our coastal path journey.

Superb hotel, great location. Fantastic service very attentive staff , vallet parking was a bonus. The Bed was amazingly comfortable and the room well appointed. Nice handcrafted shortbread biscuites on the tea tray. Food was lovely . Thoroughly recommend it.

Outstanding hotel with wonderful service from every member of staff. Superb food for both breakfast and dinner plus great location. Excellent sea view room , 103 with full bathroom of bath and walk in shower. We were made to feel extremely welcome What more could you ask for?

First impressions at a Hotel are often important. We pulled up on the Sea Front outside the Riveria just as it was getting dark last month . Saw a member of Staff checking the Terrace and called out to ascertain park arrangements . He immediately said you must be Mr and Mrs ………. If you will pass me your car keys , I will park your car and bring your luggage to your room . Great service Anthony ! It was this style of service that became the norm during our two night visit, particularly in the Restaurant. Comfortable bedroom with newly refurbished bathroom . Good sea and coastal views We dined very well during both evenings . . The 5 course Menu included a cheese trolley with a wide selection of West Country cheeses and in addition a good amuse bouche was offered - another nice touch alongside a excellent basket of bread rolls and butter ( so often not available in Restaurants) . We thought that at Breakfast the quality of the cooked items and presentation was particularly worth a mention . Perhaps , as an observation, the new Management could review the the seating in the Bar and Lounge Areas . Only two sofas in these two largish areas - the rest we thought rather uncomfortable - ( “ sit up” chairs around high tables) . Lightning in these areas could be reduced and made softer and more sophisticated. Decent bedside lights could be considered too. There is much to commend at the Riveria , not least it’s enviable seafront position , food and pretty impressive service . We shall be returning as we like what they offered . Perhaps next time in warmer weather so we can try a full afternoon tea on their stunningly positioned Terrace at the front of the Hotel

After visiting in June, we returned in Sept and popped back in for 2 separate visits to the Riviera for afternoon tea. I was expecting things to have slipped but I was delighted the food and service was brilliant excellent on both visits. Delighted the new management are maintaining the same standards across food and service as previous owners did, was great to see and hard to do but much appreciated by guests. Can't wait to return in a few months.

The stay was very nice - the staff were very attentive when we were there and couldn’t fault them. We did have an issue where on leaving the hotel following our stay we inadvertently left our cosmetic bag in the bathroom. ( our fault totally) The hotel kindly sent our bag back but some one had taken a new Ritual face cream and a brand new Ritual body cream costing around £45 each - whilst we appreciated the hotel sending the bag back we would expect to receive everything that was contained, we would have preferred the hotel to tell us the bag was disposed of rather than sending us some of our items - this left a bitter taste and marred a nice stay…. Quite disappointing
