We stayed in Bangalay for some days before Christmas with two small kids. Our stay in Bangalay was absolutely fantastic! The houses/bunglows and the other facilities are in very good condition. The breakfast was actually the best we have had during our 2 month trip in Australia. However, the best with Bangalay is the super friendly and professional staff. So kind and helpful which made our stay very memorable! Michelle, the owner of the hotel, is a true superstar and one of the kindest person we have ever met ❤️ Conclusion: Go to Bangalay now - we have only positive things to say about this fantastic place!

We stayed at Bangalay for 4 nights in October 2024 during school holidays. We encountered a few notable issues that made the trip less than perfect. 1) The pool was advertised as a heated pool, but it was so cold during our stay so we couldn't make use of it at all. 2) Only 1 of 2 EV chargers was working. On our 3rd and 4th night, we couldn't charge at all because guests left their cars plugged in from 4pm til the next morning. Bangalay should put up signs to remind guests the common courtesy to unplug their cars after charging. Also to cover up the non-working EV charger, so that guests would be less inclined to leave their cars plugged into the only working charger all night. The receptionist at checkout tracked down that particular guest to unplug their vehicle. It was inconvenient we had to stay an hour to charge before we could make it home. 3) The food at the restaurant was good, but very limited choices and it's not opened daily for lunch and dinner. It would be better if the restaurant expand the menu options and open daily during peak season. We appreciate the staff sorting out the EV charger situation at checkout. We were also very happy to receive a $100 dinning voucher for the school holidays promotion. The villa is well furnished with a functional kitchen and a laundry/dryer unit. Bangalay is located in an isolated location, with few food outlets and not many things to do. Next time we will bring some groceries and bike/scooter for the kids. Overall we had a good time and would definitely stay again in the future.

We were in Bangaly for one night only but we wished it was one week or more. The cabins were exquisite and functional, the view to the golf course was lovely and the food was delicious. Loved Zar’s coffee! The luscious gardens and the proximity to a stunning beach made us feel comfortably in the heart of wilderness. We were warmly welcomed by the staff by the staff and so privileged to be there. Thank you, Michelle and Zar!

What a beautiful hidden resort. We stayed here for one night on our drive to a wedding. One a beautiful place. Located near a beach & golf course with a wonderful restaurant and private pool. We stayed in a two bedroom unit. Very nice. Large living space and comfort beds. The only downfall of this unit is it only has one bathroom- not ideal for 4 people. The shower is one without a curtain or glass frame, which when showering drenches the entire bathroom floor in water. Messy & somewhat slippery. I still loved the unit and would stay here again. Staff was very friendly.

This was a first visit to Shoalhaven Heads. Booked Bangalay Luxury Villas for 3 nights at $600.00 per night. There is no doubt that Michelle and Tom have made a huge effort in developing this enterprise - yet sadly the service deliverables are lacking. Luxury isn’t achieved through capital investment in quality FF&E (interiors and building) alone without ensuring the promised service is delivered. Our experience to share for those considering making a booking: 1. Constant internet problems - no connection first night and problematic second day. 2. Bedsheets were stained with blood marks and soiled. Fairly disgusting and when politely shared at reception - the response was “that’s the outside laundry fault! Really, what about quality control from the housekeeping staff who refresh the room daily, yet 3. Our Room was not serviced on 3rd day when returning at 2.00pm. The reception offered to change the towels and if required would get the housekeeping staff to return as had left for the day. We declined the latter. This so called Luxury Villas operation needs some guidance in delivering the promise of Luxury and here is my suggestion: “Surely for $600/night, the Non-Negotiable standard for Management and Housekeeping is to ensure that there is absolutely no hint of previous in-room occupancy for in-coming occupants” this should be the Gold Standard? 4. The breakfast menu is very limited and could definitely include a few extra options, especially if stays are longer than 2 nights. Overall the resort staff are welcoming and the restaurant team is committed to care for their guests in a genuine manner. It would take some convincing to return to Bangalay Villas once the “Luxury” brand promise can truely be met.

You’ll be jumping with excitement as soon as you enter the room. It’s beautiful, it’s right near the beach, it’s an easy drive there, plenty of food options, complimentary cocktails and lollies on arrival, it’s heaven. The only thing missing was a bathtub for a bubble bath.
