Arrived to be welcomed by Phil the bar manager who explained meal times etc As it was about 5.30pm we had a drink in the bar while our cases were taken to our rooms We booked superior rooms and they were spacious and clean, walk in shower plenty of hot water, room had tea/coffee, tv, fan, hairdryer. No direct access from the lift so possibly not suitable for the less mobile Food was well presented and tasty, always salad and jacket potato available if you didn’t fancy what was on offer Staff were all friendly and helpful Location great for the buses. Bar prices were good We only stayed for one night’s entertainment but it was enjoyable and a game of bingo! Would definitely return

I will say that others on the trip will disagree with this review but also that most will. We stayed in a twin room no. 7 It was a coach trip so 5 star excellence wasn't expected and we appreciate that they were cooking for a lot of people. It was filthy. You could just see the layer of dust on the picture above the beds as soon as you looked at it. The bathroom handbasin plug was rusted and stained. Again you could just see the grime on the skirting board. I wiped it (with toilet roll)! and it would have easily wiped off. There was half a swith above the door. From a remodeling I expect. It was mouldy. As we pulled the shower curtain rusty dust came off. Ugh mouldy rubber bath mat. The bedroom had dirty marks on the wall and rusted curtain rings fell off when they were pulled which were left on the window sill. We had no snip on the lock and so no way to properly lock it at night. Fire certificate was from 2014. "Fire doors" had gaps all around them and as the sash window is only able to be opened 6 inches with no fire escape you'd be a bit stuck! Best until last... the food. At breakfast don't expect cereal and juice. One or the other. No table with juices, pastries etc just a marmalade on your plate. I will say that the bacon was nice as were the fried bread and grilled tomato. You have to pick your evening meal at breakfast. Ok they're preparing a lot. The soups were lovely but literally only a few spoonfuls. Half a small bowl. Dinner was at 6:30pm. People queuing like school because your starter was put out whether you were there or not. 5 minutes late and it was cold. I've no idea what budget frozen food outlet they go to but they need to upgrade. The fish was so thin and overcooked that you could have soled your shoe with it. I could go on but I already have. I also would have just raised a couple of issues at the hotel but there's just too much.
