奧本吉杜白馬飯店(Auberge du Cheval Blanc)

I was travelling by car from Roscoff port to Geneva with my 2 dogs & needed to have an overnight stay in France to break up the very long journey. I had booked a budget hotel in nearby Romarantin but decided the day before to seek an alternative with an onsite restaurant. I came upon this absolute gem & booked it immediately. Considering the price I was unsure how it would work out. It was wonderful! My room was in an annex off the courtyard and, while small, was perfect for us. There was no air conditioning but there was a fan, much needed in the very high temperatures. I had dinner in the excellent onsite restaurant & it was just perfect after a long, exhausting drive. Breakfast, while basic, was plentiful and perfect to set me up for a second long day of driving. So happy I made the late decision to cancel my other booking!

Beautiful old property with magnificent wooden beams and pretty courtyard at the rear. Very friendly and helpful host. Superb food - dinner and breakfast. Comfortable bedrooms. Good, safe private parking. Sad we could only stay for one night as we had plans already to move on but will remember this place for the future

We found this Restaurant with Rooms in a Guide Book in 2020. Having planned a route through France for 2021 we adjusted it deciding to stay here rather than a chain hotel in Orleans. This was 100% the right decision. The upstairs rooms are large with all the facilities needed for a bed and breakfast stop but what makes this place is the restaurant. The food was first class, the wine list extensive, the service excellent but not overbearing. If you are in this area do yourselves a favour stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Rooms and location ok, but not more, not for a hotel in the « Collectioneurs » group! But the main let down was the dinner: holy smoke, who would in his right state of mind put cream in a risotto!! AA.Gill would fume. Then the sweetbread that tasted like...nothing, complete waste of resources. Add a 43€ Red Cheverny wine that could burn holes in your stomach lining and try to stay happy. I must add that the breakfast was a treat (obviously made by a very good local backery that does know its business. I must also add that we were on the way back from central Spain and suggest french wine makers visit that wine heaven...why can they offer world class wines under 20€?

Dans un petit village une auberge où l’on est très bien accueilli Il n’y avait pas beaucoup de clients mais cependant nous n’avons pas eu la sensation de déranger. Ils étaient là pour nous et c’est agréable. Chambre au rez- de jardin. Le seul problème c’est que nous ne pouvions ouvrir les rideaux sans être vu. Un voilage aurait été sympa pour nous protéger des regards éventuels. La table était très bonne. Chef au top. Menu top. Plats top. Et l’apprenti pâtissier nous a fait des top desserts et des top viennoiseries pour notre petit déjeuner Franchement une très belle découverte.

Un service de qualité. Accueil chaleureux ;Personnel sympathique et à l'écoute .Chambre très propre . Locaux et décoration impeccables .Restauration goûteuse et soignée. Nous recommandons cet établissement.
