When we checked in we were not offered breakfast, one of the room was at the front door next to the guest toilet , that same room was FILLED with cockroaches in the microwave , under the fridge all around the room, we requested to be moved to another room as we layed awake all night. The next day one of the other rooms we had booked ALSO had cockroaches. We reported it to the reception lady and she had the nerve to imply that we brought the cockroaches into the rooms!!! We were also accused of smoking in the rooms which we did NOT do . We had to go buy our own ashtray because one was not even provided. As you sit on the stoop you can see rats running around in the courtyard aswell!! We reported everything to the owner and she sent us a R500 fine for smoking in the rooms. She was also totally rude when we reported the issues. Beds had stains on them, not even a bottle of water in the fridge, when we left the receptionest could not have been happier, if I was her I would be ASHAMED to work there.... for a 4 star guesthouse I expected MUCH better. I DO NOT reccomend going to this guest house unless you want to sleep with cockroaches and socialise with rats next to the swimming pool, also don't expect breakfast because it won't be offerd. This was the worst guest house I have ever been to. 0/10 DO NOT RECCOMEND.

The property has a good location. I did not want to write this review because I know how bad reviews reflect on an establishment, but when I got a bill of R500 and got accused of smoking in the rooms which we DID NOT do I thought it only fair that guests should know about the issues I had with my stay. It really angers me having to pay for something with my hard earned money that I did not do! I got a room that was right at the front door and guest toilet, away from all the other rooms, so I had to lie awake at night and listen to the front door being slammed open and shut the whole night and the toilet being used by other guests. The room was right on a busy road so the cars speeding past at all hours of the night was disturbing. There was no block out curtains so the streetlights and security lights shone through my window. This was all tolerable to a degree, but when I got up to switch off the bright tv light that was bothering me, I switched on the lights and there were cockroaches scrambling everywhere. I managed to kill two but the rest scrambled into the back of the microwave and behind the fridge. Needless to say I stayed up the whole night. There is also a door in the bathroom that goes into another room, the door was locked but there was no key on my side which really made me feel unsafe, you could also see into the other room through the keyhole, this upset me because that meant whoever was on the other side of the door could see into my bathroom. The walls were dirty and the bedding had stains. I reported the cockroach issue to reception the next morning and she had the nerve to say to me she is sorry but she does not know what guests bring with them into the rooms! I asked to be moved to another room for the second night. The next morning my daughter found a cockroach in her room on her bed as well, so obviously there is a serious cockroach problem. We were not offered breakfast option when we checked in, and i could see the receptionist was very glad to see us leave. Then to top it all of, I get a payment request of R500 two days later because according to them we smoked in the rooms!!!. Now, I am the owner of my own guesthouse so that is one thing i would never do at any establishment!!!!. We smoked on the patio outside the room, we even took our own ashtray with. Oh and the rats running around in the courtyard not nice!

The accommodation was excellent, and the breakfast was on another level. The location suits any visits either Business, Couple, friends or solo.

I had a wonderful say at Dormio Manor Guest Lodge.From the moment I arrived, the Staff was welcomming and attentive. T he room was spotless and spacious, with all the amneties I needed for a comfortable stay. The tranqyuil atmosphere and stunning surroundings made it a perfect place to unwind. Mr Wilson prepared a delicios breakfast, adding a personal touch of experience. I HIGHLY recommend Dormio Manor to anyone looking for a comfortable stay.

The reception was warm and friendly. The garden is a feast for the eyes. The room is beautiful and tastefully furnished, and the special painting caught my attention. I highly recommend this exceptional guesthouse at any time.” 🌼🏨🎨
