Our return to Captain Nickels Inn, four years after our honeymoon, reaffirmed its timeless charm and exceptional service. Nestled by the water, the inn has only grown more beautiful, offering a tranquil retreat with stunning surroundings. The service was impeccable, ensuring a seamless and relaxing stay from start to finish. We loved unwinding by the water and enjoying the picturesque views, which provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection. The breakfasts were outstanding, setting a delicious tone each morning. Dawn's guide to Maine's coastal highlights was invaluable, revealing hidden gems that rival even Acadia National Park in beauty. Overall, Captain Nickels Inn provided an unforgettable experience with top-notch service. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to this cherished retreat.

The entire Inn is just beautiful ! It is well maintained and keeps the historic feel of days gone by. Beautiful artwork throughout the inn. Rooms were all lovely, we got to see some that were not occupied. Comfort and cleanliness was perfect and the daily breakfast top notch., as well as the friendly service. It was a total washout all weekend but there are plenty of seating on the large porch. Very enjoyable stay.

Great experience. This is a beautiful building with a great view. This is very close to nearby Belfast ME which I highly recommend. Dawn was a great host which great suggestions for food, etc. They also accommodated our food allergy for breakfast. As a person with mobility issues I would highly recommend the ADA room on the main floor, the stairs to the second floor are not...just don't do it. There are steps to the front door and a step up into the foyer. You'll have to ask the host about alternative/ADA entrances. The grassy grounds are a little rough as well, so watch your step(if you use a cane/walker.) But totally worth the effort if you can stay here - especially for more than 1 night.

We stayed at the Captain Nickels Inn in October when we visited Maine for our fall trip, and we were immediately taken with this special place. The inn is centrally located, near several charming towns, and not too far from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor - just a little over an hour drive - such that we could we could easily do a day trip to the park and town. Dawn is the perfect hostess, so personable and accommodating. On the way to the inn we asked if we could have a charcuterie board which she perfectly prepared for us and we enjoyed with wine. The staff is just as friendly and the service second to none. Dawn and her staff prepare a lovely and hefty breakfast every morning. There is always coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available and even cookies at night. The well-appointed rooms are beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. The inn is extremely clean and inviting with many cozy common spaces to relax in including two living areas, dining room, bar, front porch, and multiple outdoor spaces with Adirondack chairs to sip on a warm cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Our favorite was walking the extensive lawn to the water to watch the sunrise. Two days didn’t feel like enough time. We only wish we had stayed there longer to enjoy the inn even more so we will definitely be back!

Captain Nickels Inn was beautiful. The welcoming texts leading up to our stay were great! The bedroom (we were in the Harriet room) was very comfortable and cozy- we slept so well here. Everything was clean and staff and other guests all friendly. The breakfasts were amazing (strawberry griddle cakes and breakfast tacos while we were there) A lovely place to stay while in the area!

Great stay. Room (Amos suite) was perfect. Just wish it had been warmer and good have enjoyed the private deck. We had stayed there previously a few years ago and so many beautiful changes have improved the entire site. You can’t beat the view. Very near to one of are favorite places in Maine, Belfast.
