It is a little out of the way and you will need a car. You also have to keep in mind that it is a ski resort and if you go in the Summer you will be there in the off season so it will be a little slower. But the place is great. 30 minutes from Tampere by car. Things like Sauna or bike rental will cost you but keep in mind that for the price of $419.00 for a week in Finland that is a drop in the bucket. I would go back any time. My 14 year old daughter also loved it. Great way to enjoy the midnight sun on one of their docks on the lake.

The regular hotel rooms are really basic, however there are newer cabins in the area as well which may be better. The meeting room had a really bad mouldy smell. The food in the hotel restaurant was good but, during dinner the kitchen/waiters forgot one main dish entirely. After I asked for the missing main dish, they just said that it’s coming and apparently started to prepare it without any apologies.

The lake is beautiful, of course. Unfortunately, the hotel is run as a scam. The photos online are nothing like their actual rooms. While I reserved a room with a lake view, I was given the key to a strange, cold room in the basement under a parking lot with no wifi and narrow beds, like a dorm room. I was then asked to pay an additional 159 euro to change rooms. By then, it was the middle of the night. Finally, the staff gave me keys to a better room -- in which a couple was sleeping, and they were of course surprised to see someone enter with a key! The staff told me to return later, after that family checked out. When I returned a few hours later, they were still occupying the room... It was just one ridiculous mistake after another. At long last, I was able to transfer to the original room I had booked -- after paying twice and being treated quite meanly and aggressively by staff. I was promised a refund because of this horrible experience, but my payment still has not been returned, and the staff does not respond to emails. It's really a pity, because the area is picturesque and the newer buildings are elegant. In the evening, you can see deer grazing at the water.
