赫克飯店(Hotel Hecco)

A well maintained hotel situated at the top of a hill close to Bascarsija, old town. The roms are very modern inside which is not obvious from the exterior of the property. Good sized comfy bed and clean linen. Rooms to the rear have balconies but no view. There is no lift. There is no bar and the lounge area is just seating (there is a refrigeration unit where you can buy a few drinks). Staff are lovely (limited English spoken) and a bag of laundry is just Euro10 and was done in a few hours (excellent service) Good WiFi and great security with a door code entry system. As stated it is at the top of a hill, about 7-8 mins to walk into the old town but a good 15-25 (depending on weather) walk back and there are no shops/cafes/bar close by (small shop with very irregular hours) and the hotel does not offer meals other than breakfast. Breakfast was an average continental, bread and jams, cheese, sliced meat, boiled eggs; no yoghurt or fruit. Coffee was okay and other drinks are provided (kettle on the side) though on 2nd day the tea options had run very low.

Long story short: Hotel does not deliver what it promises. Staff ensured that AC will cool down the room, which did not happen. All guests with old AC stayed in the hall half of the night due to rooms being VERY VERY hot. We were promised to get to talk with the manager and get a new room the next day. None of it happend. We had to spend half of the day arguing to get some money back, not sure if it was worth it sinne we lost a half day. If you are lucky to at random get a AC that works then I could recomend the hotel as a cheap option. Rooms with new ACs worked. Feels like it was a good hotel before that is on its downfall and is now trying to get some last money. PS. Coffee not included in hotel breakfast.

Een net hotelletje aan de rand van het centrum. In een rustige straat. De kamers zijn redelijk echt iet wat gedateerd. En er zijn veel kleine zaken die defect zijn. Of dringend onderhoud nodig hebben.
