We stayed at Istoria for 6 days and loved our stay at this beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived, the front of house staff (Isabella & Pavlos) were super welcoming and incredibly helpful with anything we needed - including booking transfers, a horse-riding excursion, spa treatments and restaurant recommendations. The hotel use WhatsApp for guests to contact reception which enables immediate responses and made all the organisation seamless, particularly the transfers. The interiors of the entire hotel are stunning and the pool area is a perfect / relaxing oasis. The beach is equally lovely and only a few steps away / opposite the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel’s Mr E restaurant every morning and it was absolutely delicious with a range of choices on the menu. We also frequently had lunch by the pool, which was perfect. The friendly staff at Istoria made our stay so special, including the lovely ladies at breakfast (Antonia) and Sina to name just a few. We would highly recommend Istoria - it’s perfect for a restful and relaxing holiday. We will definitely be staying here again.

There are so many positive things to say about Hotel Istoria it’s hard to know where to begin! First the room, which was quiet and tranquil, with the largest and most comfy bed. We had an outside rooftop terrace and enjoyed sitting out each evening before bed. We loved the privacy of the pool, unlike other hotels along the seafront, you’re completely secluded from the road. And what’s not to love about walking across the road to the beach, with premium sun loungers and umbrellas, towel service etc. As other reviews have mentioned, the breakfast is amazing. Lots of options, relaxed and a lovely setting. But what really makes a stay at this hotel so special is the guest experience. The front of house staff can’t do enough for you, answering your questions day and night via WhatsApp, making recommendations and booking restaurants and trips. They helped us to have an amazing week in Santorini. We had a hire car and parked in the hotel car park and it was easy to get around the entire island from Perivolos. I also had a spa treatment whilst at the hotel and Irini was lovely, made me feel really comfortable and the Greek yoghurt facial literally left my skin glowing. We would love to return some day, it really is a special place!

Sono stato in questo bellissimo Hotel alla fine di Agosto e sono rimasto molto soddisfatto. Organizzazione perfetta, con personale attento, scrupoloso, capace e disponibile. Una menzione ad Isabella, sempre puntuale nei consigli. L’hotel e’ direttamente sul mare, con spiaggia privata comodissima. Ti forniscono asciugamani, i lettini sono comodissimi e il tratto di mare e spiaggia stupendi. Le camere sono pulitissime, cambiano asciugamani due volte al giorno e la nostra camera, dotata di minipiscina riscaldata (forse anche troppo caldo) si affacciava direttamente con vista mare. Colazione superba per quantità e qualità (servita al tavolo da cameriere carinissime e gentilissime). Il costo dell’Hotel e’ superiore alla media ma il servizio e l’efficienza dell’Hotel lo sono altrettanto. Molto utile l’idea di utilizzare whatsapp per contattare la reception, senza fare file o servirsi del telefono in camera. Risposte immediate entro il minuto. Complimenti! Continuate così. Noi torneremo a trovarVi.

Tout est parfait , l’hôtel est magnifique, le personnel est formidable et adorable. On se sent privilégié et exclusif. On a adoré. Chaque détail de décoration est minutieusement recherché. Le calme absolu pour se ressourcer dans un Ecrin de luxe non ostentatoire. Nous avons adoré merci vous êtes parfaits

We loved the hotel and the staff, especially Pavlos who helped us make many last minute bookings. The chat service was very convenient. Food was amazing, bed was very comfortable and toiletries were so good from Korres. If I could pick this hotel up and place it in a more remote location that would be amazing. From the pictures I imagined it would be very private and in a natural setting. But the hotel is in the middle of a town, surrounded by many beach resorts that don’t have the same vibe as Istoria.

The staff and property were outstanding. The staff were warm and friendly, helpful, and attentive. The hotel room was large and elegant with a private courtyard and the common areas were beautiful and relaxing. Hope to make it back soon!

We came here as the first stop of our honeymoon, staying for four days. The pool and beach access both felt very luxurious, attentive staff always on hand to ensure your comfort. Escaping later into the madness of Imerovigli and Oia we felt extremely glad to be somewhere quieter and more peaceful. Many of the other hotels and apartments with amazing Caldera views don't publicise that right in front of their infinity pools are public footpaths, with heavy thoroughfare panting their way around the hilly towns and taking breathers on your balconies... It's in an interesting area to explore in its own right on the less well known south of the island, everywhere we went in the centre and north felt overcrowded (but it was high season). All of the staff were lovely, but we especially have to recognise Maria serving breakfast who is so clearly interested in making sure you have a good time and are well fed! The hotel app is very good, letting you contact staff anytime to help with reservations, recommendations etc... And also with automated functions for maintenance and any other service (laundry pickup, linen changes). Can't recommend it enough, but it is pricy!

Sehr schön designte Suite (Storia), sehr gutes Bett, gute Ausstattung. Der Whirlpool war toll, leider war die Terrasse nicht nutzbar, da der Sonnenschirm bei dem permanenten Wind nicht offen sein konnte; ein Sonnensegel wäre hier die bessere Lösung. Das Team vom Frontdesk war super und hat sich um alles gekümmert, eine tolle Katamaran Tour gebucht, Weingut Besichtigung und die jeweiligen Taxifahrten. Auch der Service beim Frühstück war exzellent, wie überhaupt das ausgefallene Frühstücksmenu. Leider konnte der Standard beim Dinner nicht gehalten werden; die Gerichte sind vielleicht ambitioniert aber nicht wirklich stimmig. Die verlangten Preise spiegeln allerdings bereits den hohen Anspruch. In der Umgebung gibt es viele Restaurants mit einem ausgewogeneren Preis/Leistung Verhältnis. Das selbe gilt leider auch für die Bar; teuer aber nicht überzeugend. Wenn man die Bubble des Hotels verlässt, stellt man fest das die Umgebung bestenfalls 2-3 Sterne ist, staubig und Verkehr; ein heftiger Kontrast! Wir waren 5 Tage da und die Poolanlage ist einfach toll und vor allem nie voll. Auch der Strand und die Liegen waren nie übervoll. Was aber wirklich nervt und nach einigen Tagen kaum noch erträglich ist, ist die laute Musik; überall (Restaurant, Pool, Strand) sind Lautsprecher angebracht die einen bereits zum Frühstück mit zu lauter Latin-Jazz-Kaufhaus Musik beschallen. Und in Dauerschleife immer die gleiche Playlist. Das Personal sah darin auch kein Problem, laute Musik gehöre einfach zu Griechenland dazu. Erst mit Nachdruck, unterstützt von anderen Gästen, wurde die Lautstärke auf ein erträgliches Niveau gesenkt. Das Management muss ein sehr merkwürdiges Verständnis von Erholung und Entspannung haben. In den anderen beiden Hotels auf Santorin die wir in diesem Urlaub hatten, war das auch nicht so. Das Fazit ist gemischt, 5 Nächte sind zu lang in Anbetracht von Umgebung, Angebot und Musik :) und Preisen.
