We stayed at Blackaddie for a family event for an evening in the Pheasant room. Clean, well appointed room, although up a rather narrow staircase, we were offered assistance with our bags by the proprietor. Room had plenty of storage, large comfortable bed, and a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. The room was cosy and quiet. Plenty of choice for breakfast, and the food was delicious. We didn't dine in for dinner, but the menu looked delightful. There were a couple of choices - bar-meals and fine dining, both looked like there was plenty of choice at whatever price point suited.

We had a lovely overnight stay in one of the riverside cottages. Accommodation was immaculately clean and comfortable, the location beautiful. Staff friendly, and food very good. The only negative was the guest welcome experience which could be better, and an offer of help with luggage would have been nice. All in all a very nice stay.

We stayed in Ptarmigan room this week and we were glad we chose this hotel. The hotel was selected by us as a convenient staying point for a family funeral sadly. However, we could not have chosen better and the kind service and lovely comfortable surroundings were indeed the “looking after” we had hoped for and did not disappoint. The room was plush and had every detail carefully provided, to include a lovely coffee machine with coffee pods as well as tea and kettle, bottled water, dressing gowns, jacuzzi bath, rainfall shower, Elemis toiletries, even a lovely teddy on the bed - just the ticket. We found the huge bed comfortable and room silent and dark at night, so we managed to sleep well. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, extremely tasty full Scottish. The owner was friendly and kind when he got chatting and discovered why we were there, the lady at breakfast was so cheerful and made us feel nice too, all staff were fantastic. Sadly, it is unlikely that we will be in the area again, but if we were we’d not hesitate to book again, and can recommend for a luxurious Scottish experience. Thank you for making a sad time more comfortable.

Wifey wanted to visit Glasgow, so used this hotel as a staging point. Inspired choice, We had two lovely dinner meals. First night standard menu. 2nd night ala carte, the set menu with the halibut. Wifey already wants to book again.. The room was lovely but had stairs, for mobility impaired the linked cottages are a better option.

Definitely not 4 star! This place really oversells itself and as a result is really disappointing. We had a very poor welcome and no assistance with our luggage. Our room was clean, characterful and spacious but we had to use the kettle on the floor. The restaurant was jaded and had cheap unironed table linen. The food was advertised as fine dining but it was well of the mark. Not a place I’d return to or recommend.

The Blackaddie Hotel is like a home from home for us and this visit was not different. Always a warm welcome and the cottage was clean and comfortable. Paolo and the team are so helpful. We didn't eat here this time, but have done on previous visits and have never been disappointed. Thanks Paolo, Anna and all the staff, we'll see you in a week or two.
