Always a pleasure staying at the Pivot. It is clean and staff are friendly. Had a horrible sound in my room, however kind and friendly staff moved me hassle free. The rooms are comfortable and the food is great. I will definitely book here again as it is one of my favorite hotels to stay at when I am in town.

The hotel was so clean and the staff so pleasant. We had diner at the hotel and it was amazing. It was only 1 night stay but I would definitely use this hotel again.

Globalement c'est un bon hotel où je descends régulièrement lors de mes voyages à Johannesburg. C'était préalablement le Southern Sun de la chaine Tsogo Sun, maintenant Pivot Hotel. Bien placé à Montecasino, Sandton, près des restaurants. La chambre est correcte, ainsi que le PDJ et le service. Surpris qu'ils ne fournissent pas de tongues à la chambre, et déçu de n'obtenir qu'un late checkout jusqu'à 14h00! Pourtant l'hôtel est vide est je suis un client régulier! 1h de plus m'aurait bien arrangé, et m'aurait éviter de poiroter à l'éaroport à attendre l'ouverture de l'enregistrement de mon vol. Mais la réceptionniste était inflexible et voulait me faire payer une demi-journée au-delà de 14h00!!!

The hotel is safe. Staff are friendly and nice. The room size is good. The breakfast is good. The hotel's restaurant offers good Italian food. The hotel entrance is mostly hard to be identified by Uber drivers. The furniture and look & feel of the hotel is a little outdated. The rooms is being cleaned on daily basis but they need to pay attention to the corners and electricity sockets cleaning.

We stayed one night as a family of four. The rooms were clean and more spacious than I thought they would be. The possible draw back was the queue for breakfast. We waited almost 20 min before we got a seat. I have not experienced something like this before. Not sure if there was not an an expectation that guests would have breakfast, or that guests would have breakfast later on the morning. The situation was handled professionally by the staff; though I guess something like this can be avoided. However, I will still return if I have a chance to, and will recommend the hotel to others.

The staff were excellent and the rooms were just what we needed. Travelled with two teenage boys, and they had their own room that was interlinked to our room. That made communication easier and gave us a sense of being together. The rooms were clean. Our room had a queen bed while the boys had two double beds in their room. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the swimming pool and duck pond area. Breakfast was amazing, and we had a memorable stay. Would highly recommend this hotel.

After an appalling experience at the Sheraton hotel in Pretoria, we booked into Pivot Hotel. Made a booking the same day, rooms were ready, staff welcoming, food excellent and a good time was had by all. You cannot go wrong with booking at this hotel, we have stayed here a few times and the high standards are maintained consistently. We will be back God willing! Thank you to all staff from bookings, management, check in, housekeeping, waitering, doorman etc you may think your part is small but when the job you do is done well and with enthusiasm it makes such a difference to the experience as your guest. Hospitality at its best. Thank you

Over weekends you can expect to have a row of people waiting to book in but once at the counter the staff are friendly and you are on your way to the room. The hotel has a variety of rooms available. Seating in rooms can be a problem as you only have 1 chair at a table. Small fridge available but be sure to bring your own water bottles as we only had 1 small bottle in fridge. Tea/coffee station available in the room. We opted to have breakfast included in the stay. Breakfast had a wide variety of foods and was tasty with staff topping up on coffee. Can become very busy between 8-9 in the mornings. Parking was great with easy access to the Hotel. Hotel is only a short walk away to the theatre.

Stayed one night. Room was clean and in good condition. Service was of an excellent standard across all teams. Breakfast could have had more variety. Hotel provides transfers to other parts of the Montecasino complex including theatre and restaurant area.

I've stayed at the Pivot (Southern Sun as it was previously called) quite regularly since 2012. The Hotel was always recommended by business colleagues and customers, also quite popular with international sport teams. I travel for business. So the bad first: The Wi-Fi is absolutely atrocious, it's gone through a variety of iterations over the years but this has to be the worst performing hotel Wi-Fi i have experienced (in a city) for a very long time. It was pretty bad in November 2022 and we were told they were replacing the Wi-Fi and it wasn't finished and now March 2023 (I assume the people ran off), barely usable, which for business travel is a major problem and something the hotel should address. AirConditioning - It is pretty ancient, noisy and struggles in the heat. Restaurant Hours - Offers no flexibility and is possibly why it is quite lightly used, menu's have reduced, options reduced. There is the main Montecasino Complex within 5 mins walk which has lots of options. Room Amenities - There used to be water / can of fix in the fridge. Now just one water, I am pleased the cookies have still survived (albeit a lot smaller). The shower still leaks across the entire bathroom and the sinks have never looked that hygienic even from 2012 (square manually assembled). The Better: The rooms are clean and well maintained, very functional, the shower works but the pressure seems to have been reduced over the last couple of years and the shower heads need replacing / cleaning better. The Good: The beds are very comfortable, the pillows also good quality and the black out curtains ensure an undisturbed evening. The rooms do not pick up much external noise, so you are not disturbed by your neighbours or people in the corridors. The bar is good and service from the staff is generally very good, normally requests are dealt with very efficiently and the occasional time I have had to address an issue, was also dealt with quickly. The outside Pool is also lovely (cold) but weather permitting is a nice place, as well as the Pool Decking. Great location, lots of secure parking and generally a very safe location.
