薩奇福德小屋(Thatchfoord Lodge)

Thatchfoord is like a home from home. The owner, Joyce is so welcoming, and goes out of her way to ensure that her guests have the best experience! We wanted to invite friends to have afternoon tea with us, and she provided a wonderful spread for us to share with them! The location is brilliant - overlooking the Sandspruit River with it's birdlife and beautiful walks. The sound of the water flowing over the rocks is so calming - a bit like the waves of the sea. It's hard to believe that the bustling centre of Sandton is just 5 minutes away! Our room was large and comfortable, and breakfast is substantial. All in all, Thatchfoord will always be our favourite place to stay when we visit our family and friends in Johannesburg.

My overall experience was fantastic except for things like flat screen Television which failed to impress me since I like sports and watch drama series. If you can sort out television experience that would be awesome. I was very impressed by the property, the sense of place, the view outside which is made up of a pool, the stream that flow in front of the property, the jogging experience down and up the stream .

Wonderful host, hospitable staff, very peaceful and serene environment. Shopping mall within reach and the place is easy to find. Breakfast was wonderful. The place is beautiful and well decorated....

The only reason for the low rating was the fact that it is not obvious when booking on line that there was such a vast difference in room size. What was meant to be a standard room was so small there was no room for a bedside pedestal one one side of a standard double bed, which was so close to one wall it was difficult to get out of bed. The bathroom door could not fully open as it hit the bed on the opposite side. Apart from that, Joyce was a caring host, the breakfast was good and the situation next to the Sand river was pleasant and peaceful.

This was perfect for my short visit, particularly enjoyed the tranquility of the garden and excellence in hospitality. Conveniently located it was easy to get to and from the airport, to my appoin**ents in nearby suburbs so I am looking forward to a repeat stay soon.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and helpful. I would definitely come back! The breakfast was OK and I really enjoyed the a**osphere. I’ll definitely be back! I had a wonderful experience in this hidden gem, and I would highly recommend this place to others.

I had the most beautiful and amazing stay. The staff offered a great service and they were kind and friendly. The place is easy to find with beautiful room. It a very quiet area overlooking the river.

Very beautifully located next to the river , with very relaxing sounds of the river waterflows! Very professional staff members with excellent service. Very safe place in a secure neighbourhood. The breakfast was absolutely nice , and the rooms are well serviced and equipped. I enjoyed every minute of my stay , and would highly recommend Thatchfoord Lodge to anyone. Looking forward to the next visit!
