It was lovely. Staff were friendly and accommodating and arranged airport pickup. The breakfast was lovely as well as room service. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Jhb. 💕❤️ The rooms were clean although amenities needed to be requested suxh as robes, slippers, shower gel, shampoo etc - not really nice after a long flight. As well as water, so if this could be provided first that would make it even great.

The room was a bit small but the location is great. The lady and other stuff were kind

L’hotel è bello, il personale ben preparato e sempre disponibile e pronto per rispondere alle richieste. La struttura è dotata di un buon ristorante e di un bar vicino alla piscina dove c’è ampia scelta di cibo ed è una buona alternativa al ristorante sopra citato. Inoltre ha una bella terrazza esterna dove poter mangiare, bere e fumare. Il clima non mi ha permesso di sfruttare la piscina, ma comunque ho potuto godere della terrazza. Forse la musica costante è l’unico neo di quello spazio. Le camere sono spaziose e dotate di tutti i comfort. La colazione è varia e ben fornita.

Ho soggiornato solo una notte in questo hotel, la camera si presenta bene pulita e dotata di ogni confort.Bella la vista dal bar. La cena è stata discreta ma non certo all'altezza dello chef italiano che decantano e poi lentissimi nel servire, ma quello, poi abbiamo capito, essere un'usanza sudafricana. Discreta anche la colazione. La zona circostante dice che è tranquilla ma noi non siamo usciti

My experience at this hotel was so unpleasant, I checked in & realised I was booked into a room with single beds instead of a Queen bed, I arrived at 14:00. I asked to be changed to a room that I initially booked with a Queen bed and I was told this was what the travel agency booked for me but mind you I had an option to change and my needs be catered for, The travel agency called the hotel to arrange the change. I was then told that I could be changed to a new room but after 17:00….3 hours later I call to find out since it was 17:00 already, the gentleman had not gotten back to me and I’m told he has knocked off, without even an update about my request which he was handling. The lady on duty nonchalantly then says she will change me….I wait for another hour for concierge to be sent for me to be changed to the room across the one with single beds and when I walked in around 14:00 after check-in, this room had been cleaned, I saw the cleaning lady walk out. My partner had to go and ask them why they made us wait so long and the lady said to him, there is 1 man assigned to assist all guests and he was bust assisting other guests when we waited over 4 hours just to be changed to a room that was available? I was booked at Southern Sun Hyde park the previous night prior to this horrendous experience from Southern Sun Sandton & the experience at Hyde park was top tier from the front desk to all parts of the hotel, the restaurant staff especially stole my heart at Hyde park but the overall experience at SS Sandton was horrible, even upon exit the security at the gate refused to let my partner and I out a back entrance when he could clearly see we were pulling a trailer. Instead of being polite to explain he just fought my partner verbally. Our overall experience was just not pleasant. I do not recommend this hotel at all. The food was also just not up to standard, the restaurant staff didn’t seem eager to serve us…I have no idea what the problem is at Southern Sun Sandton but I am really dissatisfied and will never be booking with them again. For a great experience with a Southern Sun, rather book Southern Sun Hyde Park!

Had to book a last business trip to Johannesburg but due to the BRICS Summit, the company preferred hotels were full and the Southern Sun in Hyde Park was the only one in the required area with availability. I now know why and understand why they are not on our preferred list! The stay was for 8 nights (which included weekend) and after explaining my story to the check-in agent, she assured me that I would get a lovely room and would want to stay with them in future. The room was on the south side, it was dark and cold (even though was really hot at the time) and faced a brick walls. The room location aside, the hotel is tired and in need of a serious make-over and modernising. Although it was kept fairly clean, its tiredeness makes it look grubby. And the drain smell was unbearable at times. Even the air freshener outside the the washrooms on the M-level didn't do the trick! You'll need your own in the room though. On a positive note, I experienced Johannesburg to avoid having to go the dreaded hotel room! The hotel is centrally located with ease of access to the shopping mall. The view of the sunsets from the bar are also spectacular but no need to subject ourselves to staying at the hotel to make use of the nice facilities.

La chambre est propre. Le personnel est très gentil. Le réseau wifi fonctionne très mal. L’alimentation électrique n’est pas performante. Les téléphones mettent très longtemps à être rechargés. Le petit déjeuner en chambre est correcte mais sans plus car quelques oublis par exemple le beurre pourtant demandé.

Shower floods, leaving us naked without towels Having to fight and ruin a romantic evening We checked in and the 1st room smelled of rot and filth The second room flooded At 11:30pm we get sick stepping out of a completely flooded shower Cos we had to use our towels to dry the floor We call to complain, ruining our romantic night staycation only to be told we will move you a room when we have no clothes besides our next day clothes which we now are wearing on unwashed bodies, cos the shower flooded. Explaining this to the staff falls on deaf ears, getting us sick and screaming and shouting cos the manager of food and beverage has no idea what to do Futhermore we are moved to the complete end of the hotel, and still wait for our items to be fetched. This is now over 45 minutes and yet we are waiting in passages with no pj’s to wear? And no clean clothes only offering us to dry our clothes at 12:20am? Nice staycation Rather stay elsewhere

This used to be a secret gem of a hotel. Sadly, no longer. I have stayed here many times on business trips and at one stage it was the chosen hotel for the likes of the All Blacks and top businesspeople. After being almost faultless then, now my room service food has been cold on both nights of my stay and it has been grossly overpriced - R330 for a steak which was overcooked when ordered rare. The breakfast buffet budgets also seem to have been cut visibly. The staff are kind enough and go through the motions, but their 'mojo' seems to not quite be there anymore. I write this in the hope that this will be fixed.

Good business hotel. Comfy rooms with good sized bathrooms. Tasty breakfast and good sundower terrace. Gym is decent but basic and the pool is too small to actually swim in. Handy for the mall next door. I would use it again.

L'albergo si trova in una zona abbastanza tranquilla e poco trafficata. Attraversando il parcheggio si raggiunge direttamente il centro commerciale. Le camere sono ben tenute e pulite, co un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Il bar e la piscina della struttura sono meravigliose. Anche la colazione e il ristorante offrono un ottimo servizio , se non fosse per la lentezza del personale , ma questo fa parte della cultura Sud Africana, molto meno frenetica di quella europea. Il personale è molto gentile e pronto , con le sue tempistiche , a soddisfare ogni esigenza.
