My stay in El Salvador start off HORRIBLE. First and foremost, I want to acknowledge that the property itself is beautiful, and the views were truly stunning. However, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and not in line with the expectations set by the listing on *******.
Upon arrival, we were assigned to a cabin that was not the one we paid for. We had booked a superior cabin, but were instead given a cheaper, less equipped one. We brought this to the attention of a staff member named Jorge, who was kind and professional throughout. Unfortunately, he had to escalate the issue to an “administrative team” who then claimed that ******* had sent the reservation list late effectively shifting the blame rather than taking accountability. After much back and forth, we were eventually moved to the correct cabin. However, this cabin appeared to be under construction or at least not properly maintained. Major issues included:
A flooding shower
Non-functioning electrical outlets on the lower level
Poor or non-existent Wi-Fi and air conditioning (which we understand may be affected by the remote location, but should still be clearly disclosed).
While we understand that not everything can be perfect, the combination of being placed in the wrong accommodation, being given inaccurate excuses, and the maintenance issues we faced made the experience feel like a nightmare especially considering we paid for a higher-tier experience.
