Our bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We slept well (except for the smoke alarm the first night.) However, the hotel needs some love. We had spots on the walls that were patched but not painted. The door lock had been replaced but the old holes were visible. They needed to be filled and repainted. I could actually look straight out the holes to the outside. The floor looked clean but there was debris that hadn’t been vacuumed. It really made me wonder how clean the bed, etc. was. The toilet wiggled which was loud and unnerving. We arrived at 10:30pm and room was VERY cold. We were tired and immediately went to bed but it was cold for about an hour. In the middle of the night the smoke alarm started beeping. We found it next day in the drawer. Do they not check the drawers after each guest? The pillows were small and square. Standard sized pillows would have been much better. There was no plastic liner in the ice bucket. The next day I asked housekeeping for one and she said they didn’t have them. Normally this probably wouldn’t bother me but the lack of cleanliness in this hotel was unsettling. I just took my cup to the ice machine and filled it directly. We didn’t have a “Do not disturb” sign in our room although I saw them on other doors. There was general wear and tear in all general areas, scuff marks on the walls, stains on the carpet, broken signs, etc. As I said, a little attention would make a difference.
