2nd stay in this grand old building with authentic 19th century atmosphere and excellent front desk service.. Still with elegance and luxury feeling although a bit fading due to an obvious need of maintenance. Upgraded to a superior room with nice old décor and nice sea view. In particular the wooden balcony and the windows seriously need refurbishment. Breakfast served in the faboulous restaurant hall. Quality is unfortunately still below the level you would expect from an old, classy hotel. To be improved! The new restaurant built at the sea front may give restaurant guests a view experience but it does not add anything good to the hotel itself, visually or noise-wise. At the last visit six years ago it was said: ‘Refurbishment will be started soon’. Same story this year, same story every year? When it really begins, please do it carefully to keep the atmosphere intact.
