Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys

De kamers zijn in orde met een groot tweepersoonsbed met muskietennet. Kleine badkamer met toilet en koud water. Verschillende gezellige plekjes om buiten te zitten eten. Het eten is er echt heel lekker en verzorgd. De Ginger thee is een aanrader.

Nous avons fait de nombreux voyages en Asie et notre séjour à Cheeky Monkeys restera un de nos plus beaux souvenirs. Un trek extraordinaire de 5 jours dans la jungle avec nos 2 guides Baek et Sahrul et notre cuisinier Alang Pii. Ils ont été très attentionnés, toujours là pour nous aider dans les passages un peu difficiles et nous rendre chaque instant agréable nous étions totalement en confiance. Nous avons vu toutes sortes d animaux et une végétation superbe. Notre cuisinier Alang Pii nous préparait de délicieux plats indonésiens et veillait à ce que nous ne manquions de rien. Ensuite nous sommes restés 6 jours au guesthouse pour nous y reposer. L ambiance y est joyeuse, le jardin magnifique, les chambres très propres et confortables Tara et Mr Wong nous ont improvisé des concerts à la guitare et nous avons pu faire plusieurs visites intéressantes aux alentours. On ne peut que recommander ce magnifique établissement

We loved our stay in Cheeky Monkeys. The staff were all incredibly kind and accommodating, they couldn’t do enough for us. Ellie’s cooking is outstanding and the 4 meals we ate there were delicious, the curry and the ikan pepes were particularly good. The accommodation is as much as you need, clean and fairly spacious. No hot water but this is standard for the guest houses in the area. They made the admin part of our stay very easy, organising shared tourist taxis for us from the airport and to Berestagi which were safe and efficient. Coco was a brilliant guide for our 1 day Orangutan trip which included lunch, about 4kg of fruit and tubing back into town. I’d gladly recommend them for a trekking trip to Bukit Lawang

Cheeky monkeys is a very comfortable place to stay and the gardens are really nice to relax in. The staff are all really nice and go out of their way to make sure you are ok. My room was very comfortable, mosquito net supplied, private shower and toilet, although the shower was only cold it refreshed you. The mattress was just so soft I felt like I just nestled into it. I slept so well. There is a breakfast and dinner menu available and the food is really nice. I stayed for 3 nights and did a 1 day jungle trek and one day mountain biking, on both occasions my guide was Wong, he is so nice. Always checking everything is good and making sure you are enjoying the experience.

I visited cheeky monkeys with two of my friends for the 3 day jungle trek! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They made us feel at home as soon as we arrived and throughout the entire stay there, we were treated like family. Bai and Ade were our trekking guides and they were so helpful the entire journey. They educated us about the history of the jungle in the area, answered any questions we had, and helped us in anyway they could during the trekking. They made it easy and fun for us all! We ended up seeing around 6 orangutans and many other animals along the way. Also, the food at cheeky monkey and along the trek was phenomenal! Special thanks to Magic Man for being the chef along the trek too! After the trekking, we spent a couple nights there to wind down and ended up doing the bat cave with Ade and had a bbq along the river. I can’t say enough about this place, they were the best in every aspect! If you’re looking for an authentic jungle trekking experience then sumatra cheeky monkeys is your place!

Thank you very much Sarah and Agus for organising a wonderful 5 day trek through the Jungle. Big shout out to Baik, Boy, Ade and Agus who were the crew on our trek and who put in an excellent performance. Friendly, knowledgable, committed and clearly enjoying the jungle themselves, they were wonderful company. We strongly recommend the longer treks since it allows you to get away from the somewhat busier part of the jungle around Bukit Lawang - you’ll then basically have the jungle to yourself (and the numerous animals, of course). The organisation of the trip and the booking process was handled very efficiently and professionally by Sarah who - together with her husband - was a wonderful host during the days we spent at Cheekys before and after the trek.
