The chirpy web site was a pale image of a hotel and restaurant on it's last legs - unswept, unkempt, scruffy - curmudgeonly staff - dinner a good part of the menu was 'off', including the reasonably priced wines. Paying more produced a delicious bottle - but no compromise on price. A horrendous row with the belligerent cook who claimed to have been trained by Alain Ducasse... and so on. Do you need this?
