Overall our stay was good, but check-in personnel could use some hospitality training. Granted it was late at night (11:30 pm) on Christmas Day, but might that not warrant an even warmer welcome? Gave my last name and he pulled out our file, took what I imagine were the keys and left the paper there on the middle of the counter. I noticed there were pink highlighted sections and asked if I needed to fill those out. “Yep” was the answer.
As I looked it over, it noted king bed with balcony so I asked to confirm it was a king with a sofa bed. Mr Personality says to me, “well I don’t know. I’ve never been in room 324.” WTH kind of answer is that?! I said, “well it’s what I booked because there’s 3 of us, my husband and I and our 19 year old son. What do we do if it’s not a sofa sleeper?”
“We’ll move you to another room then.”
Just what weary travelers want to hear after hours on snowy dark roads. Geez.
I wasn’t directed as to where the elevators were nor told what time breakfast was served so my husband went back to the front desk to ask.
I don’t expect a parade or even a “Merry Christmas” or “happy holidays” but some hospitality would be ideal considering it’s the business you’re in.
