Good points. Comfortable room with great bed. Nice bathroom with good shower. Breakfast was lovely. Bad points. Unhelpful staff, I kindly asked the man at reception if the EV parking space became free could he call me. Said he would get it moved and give me a phone call, this was at 10am. Didn’t hear anything came back at 3pm the man was gone and there was a lady at reception so I just politely updated her on situation and asked if she could let me know if if becomes available as it was still the same non EV Mercedes vehicle parked in the EV spot. A few hours later I just popped down to check and to my discovery the Mercedes had gone and there was now an Audi parked in the EV spot! I was very surprised why the lady at reception didn’t let me know? Also she was down there the whole time surely would have noticed it being moved? She seemed to find the situation quite amusing and I felt like she did it on purpose. She then told me that the Mercedes that was parked in the EV spot all day without charging was actually the owners car! After all that there was nothing I could do so I had to find a car park in town that had EV charging and had to leave my car there overnight as I had a long trip to do the following morning. Pretty inconvenient seeing as the hotel states EV charging though they don’t enforce it or the owner decides to park his non EV vehicle there for the day.

Food at breakfast was good as was location of hotel. Miserable male receptionist on check in and really miserable female staff at breakfast, never saw a smile once from either. Booked a small double room but did not expect it to be set up as a single room. We only had one cup, one bath towel, one bottle of water,one set of pillows and one bedside cabinet with one bedside light so both couldn't read in bed. I had to clean the bathroom tiles above the sink as there was something on them. The shower over the bath was antiquated and difficult to control. Wi fi was intermittent and required several logins. Parking was £12 per night which we paid on check in, only to be asked for it again on check out. The person who checked us in obviously didn't log the original payment to our room number. It was an expensive stay for what we got and the worst accommodation of our touring holiday in England and Wales. There were other nationwide hotels in the town which appeared to offer cheaper and better rooms.

In currently booked in to this hotel , only for one night thankfully The room was not serviced properly before we arrived only one cup and only one pillow and towel even though they're was two of us in the room . Only a small complaint you would think UNTIL I Entered the bathroom Seems like the last guest liked it that much they left Sh** stains In the toilet So all in all we had to get someone from reception to visit us 3 times to rectify these issues not what you would expect

The bathroom was the dirtiest I have ever seen and the attitude of the staff at breakfast was very rude. I did complain however it took several attempts before I received a response to my complaint and then being sent a £20 voucher which I felt was not fair compensation

am staying in this hotel for two nights and within the first 2 hours it has been the worst experience I have ever had. The receptionist snatched my room key off of my when I went out for the evening. I had to ask some questions and got shrugged at with barely a suitable response to my question. Initially when I collected the key she was on her mobile phone on a call and looked at me with disgust that I was at the reception desk, then didn’t get off the phone and didn’t give me verbal replies at all which was very rude. The room itself is ok, we are positioned against a busy road. The door to the room rattles when a car comes past which is slightly off putting. The location itself is brilliant, nearby to local shops. Easy access in and out of the area where needed. The hotel presentation (room not included) is also fantastic, I’m just extremely disappointed by the service so far. If I could, I’d look for another hotel tonight and tomorrow. But hopefully it improves and I can review this review!

You can see that this was once a great hotel, but unfortunately it hasn’t been updated for many years and looks really dated. They do not have electronic keys so you are asked to leave your room key with reception every time you leave the hotel. Given that our room door was tricky to close and was open when we arrived I did not feel comfortable doing this. The rooms have all the amenities you would expect: hairdryer, fan etc. Unfortunately our bathroom had not been cleaned. There were toothbrush/ toothpaste all over the counter, toilet roll nearly empty and empty toiletries such a shower cap missing from the box but left on the side. I did think the bedroom area was clean, however when checking the room for checkout, under the bed i found a used sanitary towel… The cleaning of the room needs a lot of improvement. The breakfast however was good quality with plenty of choice. Portion sizes reasonable too. Onsite parking had quite a lot of space and was a convenient secure car park. Location great for exploring leamington spa and Warwick. Overall, if the hotel improves the cleaning and modernises the rooms to electronic locks etc this could be a good hotel given the parking and location.

We stayed here for one night when attending our son’s graduation at Warwick University. Our rooms were clean with comfortable beds which made for a good nights sleep. Warm and cosy rooms, plentiful hot water and a hot breakfast were most welcome. Ideal location for the town as we had booked a celebratory meal in a nearby restaurant so it was great not to have to drive back afterwards. The overnight hotel parking at £12 was reasonable but it is on a first come first served basis so may be worth arriving promptly bid you want to be sure to get this.

We now have a need to stayover regularly in Leamington & finding somewhere striking that balance between quality accommodation & reasonable price has proved challenging for the area. However, the last few times we have been down, we have stayed at The Angel, right in the centre of Leamington, & we have become more & more impressed with each stay. I’ll start by saying it’s not on the cheap to stay end, but it is, in our view, value for money. The level of accommodation (décor & facilities, the Executive rooms being particularly recommended), the location (literally in the town centre), the breakfast & the staff (most notably Mucktadin, he’s just a star) are all just great. Our stays have had their hiccups (room with bath requested, but room with shower only allocated for e.g.), but the staff’s speed to resolution was both swift & unquestioning. We highly recommend The Angel & will be staying many times again.
