We drove past the hotel on arrival as we could not see it. Webpage shows a lovely hotel fascade, but when we eventually found the place it did not look as it did on the website. We pulled up outside and it looked like we were about to book into the Coop supermarket. Check in was OK, but the two rooms we booked were a big let down. Floors 1 and 2 are allegedly Premier Plus floors. No way. Both rooms had poor appearance and/ or maintenance issues including: Dust and fluff on the aircon unit which we cleaned off Thick dust and fluff on the skirtings and door mouldings Food particles under the bed Broken doorstop Damaged/ tired easy chair which was actually a carver dining chair. Shower heads caked in limescale which had gone black with mould. 'Wardrobe' coming away from the wall. Peeling paint on walls Ironing board so bent it was difficult to hold onto whilst trying to iron anything We moved rooms and there were similar issue there too: No easy chair Badly stained easy chair No 'wardrobe' Thick dust and fluff on skirting and door mouldings Stained and torn bedding Leaking shower screen No blind in the bathroom which was like an oven in the mornings Gunge caked round the top of the handwash which had clearly not been cleaned in months Poor internet TV had a mind of its own Breakfast poor etc etc etc. There is clearly a complete lack of customer service at this establishment which may be down to staff shortages. Reception was only manned when someone came out to turn the constantly bleeping alarm off, what ever it was for. Cleaners must be 10 minutes in each room, maximum. We tried to book into the Travelodge opposite, but they were full. We had breakfast at Fat Birds instead which is not to be missed, it's on Warwick Street. Of the £688 we spent on rooms alone, we have been refunded just £110, which we find as regulars at Premier Inn to be an insult, especially as we have two further booking with them in the next few months. Great location, but would never stay at this particular PI again.
