羅塔納斯卡瑪飯店

I am currently staying at this property and could not be more disappointed. Our room is filthy; the floors are black, the entire hotel is covered in spider webs with giant spiders and our balcony is covered with bird poop (see the photo). We cannot sit out on our balcony or hang washing as it is a biohazard. It is repulsive! We are booked to stay 7 nights, we are four nights in and have not slept as we hear music and entertainment from the tavern every night. I am so disappointed. We are paying nearly $500 per night and are living in filth and not sleeping. We are so hot at night but cannot sleep with the door open because of all the noise. It is unacceptable.

Second time staying there. 4 Years ago, the Manager agreed they had a lot of work to do to upgrade the resort to Karma standards but it was still the same. Old & dirty looking slate floors, fans no aircon. Outside balcony was a terrible, cobwebs, one dirty white chair & one dirty lounger, dirt in the screen door slider. When requested extra chairs came, they arrived with cobwebs on the bottom & our comments about this were ignored by cleaning staff. Positives: firm bed, plenty of hot water & a great hot breakfast each morning. All staff we dealt with were good At $250+ a night expensive for such a poor standard compared with city hotels.

I have only been to rottnest 4 times, and once was for our honeymoon (thanks to COVID and not being able to go far). We spent a fortune on Samphire Hotel, which really was not that great considering how expensive it was (but I won't go into that because this isn't about them)... Karma Lodge is by no means fancy, but it has that real rottnest island relaxed vibe. The staff are extremely friendly, the rooms are decent (we had a big king, two singles, and a bar fridge, and a powerful warm shower in a huge bathroom overlooking the salt lakes on our balcony). Half of this was missing at the Samphire hotel and this room was half the price ... so... if you are looking for a bang for your back then Karma lodge is for you. Not to mention an INCREDIBLE buffet breakfast that is included in the room. Everything from hot english breakfast, to muesli, fresh fruit and a bakery section full of croissants and toast... hot coffee, tea and juices. I really felt all the staff were down to earth and friendly and more than happy to accomodate. This is the second time we have stayed there and I never leave reviews but I felt this one needed a bit of a shout out! I again want to stress that this hotel is not a 5 star luxury hotel but it is worth it if you have an open mind & want to save a few pennies & receive all the same as you would anywhere else on the island!

Stay away, it’s not the staff they were great but at $275 per night seriously a joke. I have never in 30yrs if traveling left a bad review but this place has clean sheets and that’s about it. We have stayed all over the island and around the world, but for my 50th my wife surprised me staying at karma, if your paying $50pn at 3 brothers in Bail then no problems but 3 brothers is actually better. $275pn at karma gives you a 1990’s room which needs big money spent on the whole complex, resort???? Far from it, No A/c at all, filthy fan, run down 2 star and paying 6 star prices, Sorry but it’s not the staff, you can’t polish a turd, the owners need to upgrade big time. Now I know why within 2 weeks notice why this place was available, noisy fan, cockroaches, rotten fence, kids pool out of order, ***, owners not staff you need to take a good look at your property, resort…….yes back in 1990 but we are 30yrs on and sorry to say but it’s terrible, rather stay in tent land. Need a wake up call owners, frikken terrible.

No maintenance done on it, rear door to balcony hard to slide, bar fridge has a loud constant whine, has a door through to an adjoining room (not ours) that we CANNOT lock and keep possessions safe!!!! Floor is black with dirt and sand. For $457/night I am appalled

Where do I start…. This is the first time I have published a review, that’s how poor this place is. This is the second time I have stayed here and my second horrible experience. I will not be making it a third time! No air conditioning! It is 2022 and we are in WA, get some air conditioning in the rooms so your guests feel comfortable. Had to sleep with doors open which in turn meant we could hear all the noise from the Governor’s Bar. The pool area was dirty. Dirty towels, glasses, plates left overnight and still in the same spot the next day…. Don’t the staff clean up after guests? We had ants in our room, couldn’t use the bench/table without them crawling on our things (and yes we did tell staff but the ants kept coming back). Oh and to top it off I couldn’t get a hot cup of tea with my buffet breakfast. All in all a horrible hotel for a ridiculous price. Will never stay here again.
