When I checked in, my driver's license was unexpectedly copied without my consent. When I inquired about this, I was informed that it was a COVID-related precaution. However, as of October 2023, it seems unnecessary to legally mandate a photocopy of identification when they already possess sufficient information for contact tracing purposes. According to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, this practice lacks justification and may potentially endanger guests by increasing the risk of identity theft.

I felt unsafe during my stay, and to make matters worse, I discovered blood on the bathroom walls.
