Stayed here for 2 nights in august after the hotel next door cancelled our booking. The rooms need a little updating but for value for money its excellent. They were working on the front and rear areas of the hotel so progress is being made. Reception staff were lovely and couldnt help you enough. Shower curtain needed replacing as dirty at the bottom and no one came in the room to refill the tea and coffee etc but we are brew freaks in a morning. Just went down twice and was given more supplies. Just wish the bar was open but just went next door was food and drink. If your looking for a basic stay and no frills I would recommend this place. We have re booked for january so cant be that bad.

So, in summary, don’t stay here- it’s not fit purpose, the outside is a dirty building site and the rooms/communal areas lack basic amenities and hygiene standards. Half the hotel is condemned given it serious “shining” vibes. They will accuse you of lying if you try and complain and they will keep your money. Don’t believe the positive reviews, there is no one insane enough to think that this dump is ok. So, unless you want to arrive to the smell of **** and a group of guys smoking at the front door, don’t mind feeling unsafe because you can’t double lock from inside, are ok with general dirt and grime, don’t mind not showering because there is no temperature control and are ok to be called a liar and loose your money when when you complain, then go ahead and book. If not, give this place a very wide swerve!

Great Hotel and absolute bargain! Got a 3 bed family room for the price of a double and the room was lovely very clean and huge. The beds very comfortable and brand new as was all the bedding and pillows lots of storage and wardrobe space a nice big Tv on wall and plenty of Tea coffee milk and biscuits with the kettle. Bathroom again spotless clean plenty of shower gel and soaps etc and nice good quality clean white towels. The only issue for me is lack of food and drink as the bar/restaurant is closed as the owners are just trying to reestablish this place after being closed a while, it’s not really a big problem though as there is a great pub and restaurant next door at the Brentwood that is less than a 2 minute walk. If like us you just want a clean comfortable Room to sleep in and don’t need the other facilities then this place can’t be matched on price or room size and the staff are also very helpful and polite. We will definitely go again.

I recently stayed at the Carlton Park Hotel on a business trip to the area to photograph an Engagement ceremony in the area. The only reason I have given 4 stars for the 'Property condition and facilities' is because it is a work in progress and the staff are working extremely hard to restore the Hotel to it's former glory after being closed and vandalised for nearly 2 years. The hotel has only reopened it's doors to guests a month ago after being purchased by a chain of hotels and work is underway to upgrade everything in and around the hotel. My stay was very enjoyable and Ali and the team ensured that everything was perfect about my time there. The room was very spacious and comfortable with fresh linen, plenty of storage space, an iron, fan, tea/coffee facilities, TV and free WiFi. The reception area was always maintained to the highest standards and there is fresh carpeting, painting and decorating throughout the accommodation. There is plenty of parking and a Tesco Express nearby and the hotel is only a 10 minute drive to the centre of Rotheram. Once all the Reception rooms, bars and restaurant, indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and garden areas are restored, the hotel is going to become another fantastic hotel and venue for Rotheram visitors. I definitely recommend the hotel if you are looking for a quiet, friendly and comfortable stay at very affordable prices.

The worst hotel I’ve been to, Customer service dealt with my complaint as it was a joke and didn’t take anything seriously, provided proof of dirty room with photos, receptionist was clueless and didn’t understand anything that was going on, I called for a refund after proving photos and was told the photos are not evidence as they’re are defects we would even find in a 5* hotel, claimed to be busy yet they’re 3*, hopefully busy training their cleaners and trained on how to run a hotel, the worst stay imaginable and mice chew marks on the bottom of our bed to top it off

I paid £400 plus as a deposit for my daughters wedding and they stole my money. Keep away from here. You will get ripped off. When i tried to contact tge owners they did nog return any calls or emails. Lots of people have had lots of moneh stolen.

We were only there overnight in the area for a birthday party the following day. The reception staff were very friendly on arrival. The beds were very comfortable. However in the morning when showers were needed there was no hot water not even warm and no one in our party of 5 could get the internet to work.

Sardar Ji - the main manager of this property is the most welcoming host you ever could wish to meet. The rooms are spotlessly clean and nothing is too much trouble for him - he puts a lot of time and effort into running this property and for that I have ultimate respect - highly recommended
