Do yourself a favour and do not book this place. Nightmare stay. The only advantage of this hotel was its location (2 minutes from the Spanish steps). Other than that, it was absolutely stressful staying here. If I could give a rating less than 1, I would. 1. There was never anyone at the reception; there is a “reception” but there is never anyone there. That means when we arrived at 1pm in the afternoon we were left outside in Via Gregoriana and there was no one there to let us into the complex. After waiting for a minimum of 30 minutes a resident from one of the houses inside the complex came out and let us in. 30 minutes later we received a text message telling us which room to enter and so we did. The fact that there was no reception, meant that the following morning we were woken up at 8:30am by other visitors trying to get into the building. 2. The hotel is mis-advertised. It is at best 7 tiny apartments in the basement with poor ventilation. It has multiple sets of stairs and it is not suitable for anyone with luggage. 3. The door of the bathroom was broken with no handle and you couldn’t easily close or open it. I cut myself twice trying to exit the bathroom. 4. The internet was a joke. It wasn’t working at all during the 2 days we stayed there. I had to pay $10 a day to use the data on my phone, and even that did not work because we were in a basement. We couldn’t even access enough internet to book another hotel to leave this horror. 5. Given that the room was underground there was very poor ventilation, and it was hot and humid. I didn’t sleep a wink because I couldn’t breathe at night. 6. We paid for 3 people and they provided towels and shampoos for 2 people 7. Because there’s no reception we couldn’t ask anyone to call a taxi for us to get to the airport. We stood in the street and waited for a while before going to another hotel, a proper hotel down the street and asking them to call a taxi for us Bottom line: this place was awful, and it ruined an otherwise wonderful stay in Rome.
