We were in Rock Hill for a full week for a basketball tournament. Wingate was not too expensive, had breakfast included and was close to the event venue. Although the hotel is older, everything was clean and we felt very safe there. The breakfast each morning was the same thing, but it was good and we were able to fuel up to start the day. The room was a bit small, but the bathroom was a great size! At the front desk they had food recommendations by Patrick, the manager. We tried several and were not disappointed in any of the restaurants! Patrick also went above and beyond to make sure we were able to stay an extra 2 nights at the end of our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Everyone was very nice and friendly. The place was clean but the lobby furniture is very worn and ratty. Overall I would stay here again and would recommend to others.

We were traveling as a group for basketball. 1st night one of the groups found a cockroach in the room. They were traveling with a 2 y/o. Had to pack all their things and move to another room with a toddler, very inconvenient. The next day elevators were not working. 2nd night another group found bed bugs and immediately checked out. Hotel did not want to give them their money back even after they were shown the picture. Lady at the lobby was saying she couldn’t do nothing b/c the manager was out of town and could not be reached. The story kept changing. Hotel was in need of upgrades. The furniture in the lobby had the leather peeling off the couches, room carpet was dirty and walls were peeling. The only good thing at breakfast was the waffles. The eggs were full of water. The juice was so watered down. The last day the pool was closed. I was charged an extra fee at check out. When asked about it b/c that was not the price I got at booking I was told it’s a destination fee and for some reason it doesn’t show up when booking but they can’t do nothing about that it’s a SC law. I highly advise you to by pass this hotel.

Hotel staff gave my room key to someone who attempted to access my room around midnight twice. I had to call Rockhill Police to come onsite and report the incident, the next morning I spoke with the manager she stated that she She would have maintenance check my door to see who tried to access it. She called me back shortly and said oops maintenance accidentally erased all information on your door. How Convenient! The manager was rude. She refused to comp my stay. Do not stay here! if you’re a woman by themselves or with children, do not stay here! When police arrived, the front desk Male employee changed his story so many times, I felt like I was a lifetime and the entire staff at the hotel was in on it.

Very tired furniture. Lots of chips and dents. The door to the unit did not latch properly which had resulted in lots of dents to the door from previous guests forcing it open. Walls, floor, and bathroom all very dirty. (Sink area was clean) The tub soap rest especially was covered with layers of scum. The shower had very low water pressure.

This hotel is next door walk to a cracker barrel, down the street from a Ruby Tuesday, Texas Roadhouse gas station.... Once you get through the traffic jams at Charlotte and need a stop this hotel is perfect. Rooms are clean, breakfast is good, elevators are fast, friendly staff, quiet AC/Heat.

The hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. The staff were professional and attentive. Hotel is close to stores and restaurants. We were given adjacent rooms without having to request that which made staying with children ideal. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel and location with plenty of food choices close by. Traveling with 2 little dogs this hotel only charged $20. The room was very nicely done. Beds and pillows were so comfortable. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, lotion. The room has coffee or tea to make in your room. Everything was clean, and well maintained. Breakfast was great, eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, and plenty of cereals, muffins, coffee and any condiments you would need. The staff was so nice at breakfast and Tia at the front desk in the morning was so sweet. Would definitely come back.

If you need a place to stay, this is it. Night desk guy is so great. Clean room, excellent hot breakfast and convenient location off of the highway. It is now our regular stop when passing through the town.

My husband & I arrive & Go check in with Patricia at about 12:15 pm est &were appreciative we got our room since check in is 4pm . Patricia checked us in & was very unpleasant, non hospitable & definitely not customer! Gets the worse it can get from here ! We enter our mobility room 117 to THE FILTHIEST ROOM EVER !!! Lots of holes in the EXTRA FILTHY CARPERT !! , stains & soiled to the emth degree up one side & down another!!! Mold in stand up shower , vomit on curtains , scribble , scratches & paint coming off walls , roaches , VERY SMELLY!!! I ask for coffee around 430 am & greeted Cory! CORY WAS DESPICABLY NASTY , DISMISSIVE , UNPREPARED & didn’t want to give me the coffee used in the filthy room !! He was so nasty , I asked was he the manager & he said NO !!!!! I laughed at him as I thought this guy needs help & can’t control himself!! He definitely doesn’t need a job at the front desk of a hotel !! He needs to be fired for his AWFULLY NASTY ATTITUDE!!!!!! I don’t know how this place would rate zero let alone 33 stars !!! I was offended & upset by the way I was treated by This nasty & RUDE INDIVIDUAL!!!! Patricia tried to redeem herself but Cory couldn’t have cared less !!!! Secret shoppers visit this hotel but he has no concern for that !!! Their management has to know how nasty they are especially Cory !! We stayed awake all night & left around 545 am ! Will report to consumer affairs & BBB !!! These conditions are detrimental to one’s health & no one should have to live like this !!! We didn’t shower ! We were afraid because everything was so disgustingly dirty!!! Wow ! I’m really terrified to go there again!!! Caution yourself when having a stay here ! Can’t help but wonder if the room was in such deplorable condition because we used our Wyndham points to get it !! Wyndham, please do something about this !!!

1st room horrible 3 dog poop smeared into carpet&pee spray smell horrendous!Front desk not helpful said if boom through someone else take 30-60 get & didn’t tell us about their memebership Checkout rude Bed 2room king low to floor old!Good breakfast though & pool looked nice.

Rooms had an odor. They are well worn and need new furniture, carpet, paint and shower walls. Was given a new room but same issues. TV didn’t work in second room but was too late to bother with at that point.

Oh how I have savored every day, minute, hour and second since we departed your hotel. If you haven’t handed in your notice yet, let me offer a resignation letter for you. ******** To: Wingate by Wyndham Rock Hill SC Upper Management: Effective immediately I, Bonnie the front desk manager, tender my resignation. It’s been a long run (not sure how long exactly but at least 8 months), much longer than my other previous positions that I couldn’t seem to hold down. You see, I hate people and I especially hate kids. And when you allow people to book rooms with their kids, well that just won’t do. You thought I would care for this place, but if you took a look at me, I mean a real good look, I cant even care for myself. You want me to open the pool so people can enjoy one of your offered amenities, but I hate pools too! That’s why I let it look and smell like a swamp. Guests have told me (numerous times) they’ve seen cockroaches in their rooms to which I simply respond “impossible bc they scatter when the lights turn on.” My cat even scratched up your pleather lobby couch and I used a sledgehammer to crack the walls in some of the rooms. In addition, I took the liberty of releasing flesh eating spiders into each and every room so as to ensure no one ever comes back. Figured that was a nice touch! This past weekend you allowed yet another group of sports teams to book rooms here. I had to deal with many complaints (actually only one) that the 13 yr old boys were too loud from someone who ultimately just wanted a free room. Oh and get this, I scheduled 1 person to work the night shift when about 60 people were checking in at the same time. He threatened to quit- can you believe that? Blasphemy! Sure I could’ve looked to see when all of these people were supposed to arrive, but that would’ve been me putting in an effort and that just ain’t me. One guest complained that her door wasn’t locking- now this I believe. I often let the batteries run out in the door locks and only replace when I feel like getting to it. Anything above and beyond would really just be overachieving. So, as I stated above, I quit! Good luck finding someone to fill these shoes. I’m sure it will be much easier than you think!
