Travelodge Rochester

The hotel wasnt the worst but certainly isn't the best, some staff were not very inviting. The manager who's name i think was tom , made me and my wife very uncomfortable and he stunk of alcohol which was very concerning, the ladies that checked us in were lovely I think they were called caitlinne and chrissy not too sure but where amazing when we arrived late , helped us with the confusion of checking in as the booking was in the wife's name, but they were amazing , also would recommend eating elsewhere as the food unfortunately tasted like microwaved mush

Im not really a big fan of travelodge, im more of a premier inn person but this place is one of the worst i have been to. But i do like the rooms, they are clean, they have comfy beds and delicious food. One incident was when i had an arguement with the person running the restaurant, she was ratty at me because i went to the restaurant earlier than usual. I told her to calm down and thats when she snapped and started yelling at me saying “Dont you tell me what to do!” And “Dont tell me to chill!”, this is disgusting and unprofessional behaviour. I told travelodge support about this and they just gave me a free breakfast and the did nothing about the aggressive staff member at all!

Fab stay here for one night over weekend, got a double room which didn't have any AC but got a swift room change to another room, Thanks to the speedy comms with Bry the room maid who made a quick response to the team group chat, followed by Shane the maintenance chap who came up swiftly to try rectify the issue, sadly AC was broke, quick room change and super helpful Reception Staff who are a credit to this particular Travelodge being both Starr & Laura, their front of house service and experience ensuring customer issues are solved with a rapid response, which it was, as this didn't impact our stay - we saw them multiple times over the course of the weekend, super super helpful and friendly, saw them again at Breakfast on Sunday, Breakfast restaurant area was spotless and the Breakfast itself full english was of particular good quality produce of which we was very very happy with, cooked really well and presented lovely by the in-house Chef Lucy 5 stars for that too.... tbh, I couldn't fault this particular TL, it ticks all the boxes for cleanliness, super helpful Starr & Laura who go above and beyond to make your stay & visit memorable, the facilities here and size of the hotel is fab, train station and local lovely historic high street just on your doorstep in a quiet location near the Riverside Wharf a co-op outside and costa should you wish to use it but the hotel offers a variety of food and has a 24hr bar/food service which is fabulous too. Well done TL Rochester thank you in particular to both Starr & Laura for such a warm friendly professional welcome - we hope to see you both again very soon, thank you for making our visit special. Friendly professional staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. I arrived five hours early and soaked to the skin. Once I was changed into something dry the staff put my wet clothes behind their counter and provided me with a glass of water. Small courtesys such as that made me feel welcome. Room was clean and spacious.

A recently built hotel in the Historic Rochester, Kent amongst hundreds of newly built (& being developed still). The double room was more like a student dorm supposedly with a river view, no it wasn’t, but no loss there! We were there for 3 nights visiting old friends as we were born and lived in Rochester for 40 years. It was very cold whilst there and the aircon was set on auto at 19 degrees and when reception supposedly changed it to manual it only lasted 30 minutes until reverting to auto every time. I kept telling them and they logged in the problem but nothing was done to rectify the issue. As far as the supposed resturant was concerned then don’t bother. It opens at 7am to 10am and we got there at 8.30am only to find that the scrambled egg looked and fell off the ladle like popcorn the bacon was dry and inedible without damaging teeth, baked beans in an unmarked pot when finally found, cold tomatoes and potatoes, sausages that you needed a very sharp knife to cut into bread drawers were empty and we were grunted at when we was asked the table clearer for some. When it came to the pastries there was only one croissant and nothing else, when asked Ms Grunty just mumbled”we don’t have none left”. We usually stay in one of the many other hotels in Medway but thought we would try this hotel this time ….. NEVER AGAIN!

We stayed one night as we had a family party to attend. Room was clean and all linens good. We had a family in the next room to us that were quite noisy..but we only stayed one night so if we had been staying longer I would have complained. Good to have the parking here that was a bonus. Staff were pleasant.
