Great holiday, enjoyed the walking, scenery, wine, company and especially the food. Rooms comfortable, lovely views and plenty of hot water. Simple breakfast and choice of packed lunch, but the evening meals cooked by James were excellent and were served with a choice of wines. We needn't have worried about the company, if you like good food, wine and walking then you've already got a lot in common. The walks were initially outside our comfort zone, 12k on the first day, but we rose to the challenge and we came home a lot fitter. Edith our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Virtually all inclusive but check flights tie in with free transfers. We send a big thank you to Lorna and James.

We arrived here to partake in a four day Rhone wine experience. Much of what is said in previous reviews is spot-on: the accommodations are clean and comfortable, the food is far above average, the wines delightful, the hosts attentive, and the surroundings like something out of a travelogue. Our experience deviated from the norm however in that on our second day I came down with Covid. Not only was I isolated in our room, we were forced to extend our stay several days, disrupting the plans and normal activities of Lorna and James. Their response was beyond anything which could or should have been expected - preparing and delivering special meals, providing services not contracted for, working to assure our comfort and that we felt welcomed, and doing it all with grace and dignity. Anyone considering a visit to the Rhone Valley for wine tasting, hiking, biking, or just to partake in the incredible scenery would be remiss not to make La Masion Rose their base of operations. You will be treated as far more than just a guest and I cannot recommend this gem any more highly.

I was a solo traveller on a Wine and Walking holiday and I had the most wonderful time. Beautiful accommodation, stunning views, delightful hosts/travelling companions/mountain guides, delicious food (even accommodating my vegetarian/gluten free diet with flair). Just a gorgeous experience from the moment I arrived…bravo, Lorna and James and thank you for a wonderful holiday!
