奧斯圖爾飯店

Solid. Under new management/ownership spring 2024. Doesn't look snazzy from the outside but inside we had a good size room & good bathroom/shower. Solid breakfast in the morning. Only significant issue was plug ins only on the opposite side of the bedroom from beds. Room had a TV which was fairly unusual in our Iceland lodgings. Good spot in the Eastfjords. 3 minutes to Hwy 1, 25 minutes to Egilsstadir, easy access to the to the Eastfjords north and south as well as inland around Lake Lagarfljot. Small town (1350 pop) but more services for travelers than in more hyped Seydisfjordur. Kronan grocery store and bakery around the corner. Would stay again.

Completely devoid of any character/charm and looks like some type of low end business centre place that was converted into a hotel. The girl working on the reception desk was friendly but the building itself doesn't feel welcoming. The room door kept getting stuck and we struggled several times to open it. There are only two electric points in the entire room, neither is next to the bed. The bathroom is a wet room with the shower positioned right next to the door so the entire area gets flooded and you have to step on the wet floor every time you want to reach the toilet or the sink. Really weird. If they at least had a shower curtain that would help contain the water a bit. Breakfast is included in the price but the offering is pretty disappointing. It was cheap (for Iceland) If I was staying in the area again I would pick a different place.

Hotel orrendo. Fortunatamente ci abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte. Sembra il classico hotel da film horror. Alla reception un ragazzo che sembrava capitato li per caso, non sapeva niente. Avevamo una prenotazione per 4 camere per un totale di 9 persone (una tripla e tre doppie), peccato che le camere che ci hanno assegnato fossero quattro doppie. Abbiamo fatto notare la cosa e la soluzione del ragazzo è stata tirar fuori un materasso gonfiabile e gonfiarlo in una delle stanze. Non c’è ascensore ma solo una stretta scala circolare che rende difficilissimo portare su le valigie. Anche la colazione tristissima, soprattutto le mezze banane annerite
