努特菲德修道院飯店及Spa

Currently sitting round the pool as I write this. Firstly the hotel and the service is excellent. However, came to the pool to have a relaxing few hours, read my book and go in the jacuzzi etc. However, for the past hour there has been screaming kids in the pool. Jumping and splashing everywhere. This is not acceptable for what is meant to be a relaxing environment and what has cost me and my girlfriend all in what will be £500 for one night when you add on the room service. That family should not be allowed in here. It should be adults only. They can go to the local council pool. The worst part was that the parents couldn’t care less about the racket and mess their kids were making. They belong in a bin.

This is our third stay at Nutfield, well I say our, myself and 14 year old Poppy Labrador! We booked direct with the hotel, being regular visitors to the HandPicked collection, one of the only hotel businesses I can find that treat the dog as a human, we get the room of choice by going direct, the general manager Richard oversaw our reservation perfectly, we were not disappointed. Beautiful suite with far reaching views over countryside towards Gatwick, the hardy suite has dual aspect floor tall windows, making it light & airy, plenty of room for human and Labrador too, with excellent easy chairs and dining table. We were treated very well over our 3 nights, dining in the bar and Alfresco on the terrace, mother & daughter team Kelly & Niamh in the restaurant & bar could not do enough for us, we felt very welcome. The weather was excellent, I made use of the spa on 2 occasions, having 2 treatments which were very relaxing in good quality treatment rooms and relaxation space, the pool and spa pool are fine but could do with a bit of an facilities upgrade, the shallow gradient of the pool is annoying to swim lengths and the spa pool is pretty basic for 2023, but nevertheless very clean and tidy. So another super visit and of course we will return.

We booked Nutfield for a mid week break to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel building itself is just stunning. Whilst being incredibly old it is kept in immaculate condition by the Nutfield team. The team are just lovely. Friendly, welcoming and unobtrusive. They couldn’t do enough for us. The food and drinks were delicious, and carefully prepared. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and quiet. The grounds and views across the Surrey hills is also pretty spectacular! Strongly recommended! And if you are able to go mid-week when there may be fewer guests, you’ll feel like lord and lady of the manor!

My mum & I booked a spa day as a treat to look forward to in January and it certainly did not disappoint. We last came over 6 years ago and the service and quality of treatments remains the same. We really enjoyed the check in and welcome - where we had a hot drink prepared and a smoothie. I had a lovely express facial and body exfoliation and massage while my mum had an express back, shoulder and neck massage and luxury facial. All the treatments were wonderful and our therapists very attentive We both had a lovely lunch (recommend the salad bowls) - very tasty and generous portions. I liked that the spa manager checked in with us too. The spa area was not too overcrowded and we enjoyed the jacuzzi, spa, sauna and pool. Yes, the changing rooms look a little tired and well used in places, but everything worked well and had decent sized lockers, nice waterfall showers and good hairdryers. For the price, it was excellent, and you get quite a bit for your money, especially compared to other places. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing day and would definitely return.

As I’m awake at 5.30am due to the delivery vehicle I shall use my time to write. This is our second visit to Nutfield as we had been wowed by our first .We had been searching for a stopover for long journeys and Nutfield is perfect. They welcome the dog , the grounds are stunning with a wild place filled with birds and our first visit just after Christmas with the hall filled with decoration was lovely . Unfortunately on arrival this time the Hall was filled with the smell of bacon as there was a barbecue outside for their Wedding Fair.The dog was delighted of course . We were given the same room which has a handy side exit to the grounds but is over the service area and has a tiny & grubby little bathroom. We again ate in the restaurant , the food is good enough but the service is slow and unattentive not helped by our position at the end of the long cloisters next to the high chairs and left over breakfast items . The service at breakfast though was super and almost redeemed the Priory as warranting it’s stars but not enough for us to return .

Had the most beautiful afternoon tea. Staff were very attentive and made it very special for my mums birthday. Sandwiches, pastries and cakes were delicious and fresh. Excellent value for money. Best afternoon tea I’ve had in a long time and the ambience was very relaxing.
