Das Hotel liegt an bester Lage in einem sehr vornehmen Quartier. Pool und Garten sind sehr gepflegt. Die Zimmer sind mit allem, was man sich vorstellen kann, ausgerüstet und sehr sauber. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Man kann sich keinen besseren Ort in Johannesburg vorstellen. In Johannesburg gibt es für uns nur noch diese Adresse. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Imagine um lugar com apenas 5 suítes, num bairro residencial de altíssimo padrão e um time de cinco pessoas para fazer você se sentir a pessoa mais importante do mundo. Foi isso que sentimos ao chegar no The Cliffside. Os ambientes externos e os quartos são de um hotel cinco estrelas. Mas a atenção que tivemos vai muito além das “cinco estrelas” tradicionais. Já viajei para mais de 20 países, já fiquei em alguns dos melhores hotéis do mundo, mas nunca me senti tão especial. Cada detalhe é pensado para fazer a diferença na sua estadia. O ponto alto foi fugir totalmente do cardápio do pequeno restaurante e pedir um prato tipicamente africano. Melhor, pedir para vê-los cozinhar. Pedido aceito! Tivemos uma das melhores refeições das nossas vidas. E como foi no dia 25 de dezembro, podemos dizer que nossa estada no The cliffside foi um presente dos deuses. Certamente voltaremos mais vezes!

We had a lovely 3-night stay here to relax before flying home to the UK after a safari holiday. The atmosphere created by all the staff was indeed relaxed, welcoming and friendly. There were lots of nice little touches and attention to detail making the environment very pleasant. Our room (Sunrise) was bright and spacious with a great view towards the west from the balcony. The views were even better on the path up to the cliff (even though we didn’t quite make it to the top!) The quality of the food was excellent and made us change our plans from eating out to dining in for all of our meals. I hope we'll be able to visit again someday to spend longer and explore Johannesburg a bit more.

We are here for 2 nights before we join our tour group at a conventional hotel. What a lovely respite from our 36-hour flights with layover. Set in a residential area high in the Northcliff area near the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens this boutique hotel has lovely grounds with walking trails, a pool, and sauna. Truly an oasis of calm, separated from the noises and stress of city life. There is no restaurant on site, but a chef prepares dinners from a la carte selections. Breakfast, also a la carte, is included in the rate. The food is flavorful and delicious, as good if not better than any restaurant where we’ve dined. We are in the Cottage suite, which has a kitchenette, a sitting area, huge bathroom with shower and bidet, and a sunny patio. With clean rooms, an accommodating and attentive staff this is the perfect place to relax before or after a hectic tour.

A special mention must go to Chef BK, whose passion for food truly shines through every plate. The attention to detail and flavors in each dish made it clear that this was more than just a meal—it was an experience. Chef BK’s talent and dedication to quality elevated the entire breakfast, making it one to remember.

Really nice staff. Very comfortable room. Great views. Good food. Good location. Spectacular views of the evening electric thunderstorms over western Joburg. The Ecopark behind the hotel has awesome views but is a tricky scramble. Take water and sun screen
