Vincenzo was a great host - he provided parking info via WhatsApp and met us by the piazza to escort us to the B&B. The room was on the smaller side, but it was of great value given the location, private bath, and a hearty breakfast. The B&B itself had a great outdoor terrace overlooking Ragusa Ibla. Guests should know that there were numerous steps they must climb before reaching the room. We enjoyed our one-night stay here!

Επισκεφτήκαμε την Σικελία και την Ραγκούσα τις ημέρες που το ακραίο καιρικό φαινόμενο του τυφώνα βρισκόταν σε πλήρη έκταση στα νοτιοανατολικά σημεία του νησιού που συμπεριελάμβανε και την Ραγκούσα. Το προσωπικό μιλάει εξαιρετικά Αγγλικά και μας βοήθησε και σε δυσκολία που παρουσιάστηκε εξαιτίας της κακοκαιρίας αλλά και , κατά την διάρκεια των ημερών μας στο νησί με εύρεση και κράτηση εστιατορίων , αυξάνοντας την εμπειρία ταξιδιού προς όφελος μας . Η τοποθεσία του ξενοδοχείου είναι σε εξαιρετικό σημείο , σε απόσταση 5’ από το ιστορικό κέντρο και η θέα από τα δωμάτια , φανταστική ! Υπάρχει ανελκυστήρας, όλα είναι καθαρά, το δωμάτιο ευρύχωρο , καλόγουστο , υπάρχουν προϊόντα μπάνιου , νερό πάντα ζεστό . Η αίθουσα του πρωινού θυμίζει παραδοσιακή trattoria , η ποικιλία είναι αρκετή για να ικανοποιήσει όλα τα γούστα . Τηρούνται όλα τα μέτρα ασφαλείας . Parking δωρεάν σε δημόσιο άπλετο χώρο μπροστά από το ξενοδοχείο . Περάσαμε υπέροχα και θα το ξανά προτιμούσαμε . Ευχαριστούμε !

Sabbinirica earns high marks on the Cherry Wonderdog lodging scale. It’s an exceptionally pretty property on a steep hill in Ragusa Iba overlooking the town, with wonderful vistas and sounds of church bells in the distance yet total silence at night. We had an economy room, #2, a cave-like structure, fully renovated, modernized, and equipped for comfort. It was beautiful, and we slept well in the comfortable bed for two. The guest house manager, Marzia, was a superwoman. She took care of the property and its guests, including registration, check-outs, special requests, and everything in between. She gave us ideas about sights to see, where to eat, and places to visit. Every morning she arrived to prepare breakfast, which, with the exception of the wonderful cappuccinos she made for us without limitation, was served buffet style. Normally it started at 8:30, but on the last day, she accommodated our need to eat early and invited us down at 8. We had been in communication with Marzia prior to arrival, because she manages other projects and properties simultaneously, and she wanted to make sure she was around for us. Fortunately she was still in the guesthouse when we, like many other travelers, fell prey to Ragusa Iba’s challenging road system. GPS certainly met its match when it recorded Sabbinirica! To our delight, Marzia ran down from the guest house and greeted us in the parking lot, then she accompanied us back (while carrying half the luggage) up the multiple flights of stairs to the property. Did I mention she was physically fit? As amazing as Marzia was, sometimes the work seemed too much for one person. At our previous B&B in Ortigia, there was an entire family and assistants catering to the needs of guests all day long. It felt odd that Sabbinirica relied on only Marzia. It would have been nice for to have an extra hand at breakfast and front desk coverage more than a few hours per day. Other suggestions include shifting the breakfast offerings to less sugary items, opening the breakfast area gate after hours for communal gathering, adding a Wi-Fi amplifier to boost the signal upstairs, and increasing the water temperature by several degrees. There was a towel warmer in the bathroom, but it wasn’t functional. Lastly, for safety, there could be more light on the second level beyond those projecting from floor to ceiling into people’s eyes. As a final note, we were fortunate to meet the owner Marco, a warm gentleman who cares earnestly about his guests and keeping Sabbinirica in good standing. His restaurant, Osteria Imperfetta, is worth visiting for fine dining in Ragusa Iba. In sum, we enjoyed our stay like so many others and wish Sabbinirica and future guests all the best.

Used this place as a base for touring the hill towns of South East Sicily. We found it well located to get to Scicli, Modica and of course Ragusa. All within 20 minutes drive. We arrived late on a Sunday and helpful lady on reception gave us great recommendation. Lovely big room, spacious parking area and big plot to roam. Inviting swimming pool with lots of loungers - bit too cold to use in May though. Poppies and wildflowers abound the grounds. Environmentally conscious theme. Local products well in evidence at breakfast. Good choice of food and great fresh blood orange juice! Overall incredible value. Would come back!

This was a great place to stay, in a quiet setting near Modica, Sicily. The breakfast (which was included) was amazing, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and we thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of hanging by the pool. And the cost was extremely affordable! If we return to Sicily, we will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is nice, resort full of wonderful restaurants and bars. Try the Tosto Steak House at Marina and Imperial for amazing good value food. The hotel charge 35Euros per day for three people on the beach. This is only for a sunbed, umbrella and use of loo and shower. We just used free, public areas of beach, swam in sea and went back to hotel pool after. They also try to charge for the room safes 2Euros a day , but TUI ensured we were not charged for use of those. 3Euros Charge to change towel more than three times in two weeks. Also city tax charged per day, so be aware of extra costs. The hotel and area were nice, near beach and lovely quiet pool with sunbeds readily available (no towels on beds at 6am, thank goodness). Shower trays with no lips and poor drainage, cause bathrooms to flood, but maintenance came and put extra marble bars on shower trays that resolved the flooding. Be aware as dangerous when tiles wet. Think hotel should fix this issue in all rooms to prevent an accident. Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Scicli, all beautiful towns and under an hour away. Bus back from Ragus Ibla not easy so ensure you go armed with where to catch buses back to Marina de Ragusa, as not straightforward. A really nice, quiet, clean hotel and was not too busy in August. Staff were good and did resolve issues when highlighted. We had a great two week holiday.
