A wonderful stay, The views are stunning, the rooms well appointed, the food good. Add to that a range of staff that could not have been friendlier and a bottle of whisky in the room to have a drink during your stay (not a miniature!), you have a winning combination. There is a free tour and tasting built in. The distillery is small and very hands on with everyone engaged. (Their latest release was blended by their Finance Director, Lexy). This is not a Macallan-style tour and all the better for it. A lot of the islanders are involved in some way with the project, and they are as much part of the hotel as the distillery is. It is a real community venture that is bringing new life to the island. I have great respect for the founders and their vision. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic location and very comfortable hotel. The lack of staff is obvious and quite understandable due to the location of this hotel but doesn’t help with the experience if waiting 15 minutes at the reception for someone who is able to check you in!! Also in the evening all the staff drink in the bar, that in itself takes away the exclusivity that is expected in a place of this calibre.

Stayed for the winter whisky retreat package . Found the hotel , food and staff to be great. Distillery tour was very good and huge credit to Emma our distillery guide who was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. All in all a fantastic trip which wasn’t cheap but in my opinion great value for money

This hotel is an absolute gem. Lovely welcome with welcome drink. Personally shown around and up to our room. The lounge and honesty bar are a lovely touch. The renovation on this building is truly stunning. The stone walls, wood cladding, use of glass to get the most of the view are all perfect. Our bedroom was lovely. So tastefully decorated and very homely. The tour was great and very interesting. Breakfast was lovely and some interesting options. All in all a fabulous stay.

This was an awesome hotel, attached to a cool distillery, on the wild and beautiful Isle of Raasay. Pros: stylish, modern, cute little hotel with thoughtful amenities including a free dram in your room alongside yummy local shortbread cookies. Great views and location, walkable from the ferry and easy to stroll to the neighboring hotel for dinner (since our little hotel couldn’t provide dinner service every night). Breakfast (included with our stay) was delicious! I had fresh fruit, coffee, and a full Scottish breakfast. One thing I loved about this hotel was the guest lounge, a private room overlooking the sea with sofas and chairs, a fireplace, board games and an honor bar. We played Scottish monopoly and cards here before and after dinner. Adorable. Did I mention they offer a free distillery tour with tastings for hotel guests? I did the one with a chocolate pairing upgrade and it was great. So happy with our stay here.

Arrived on the early ferry on Sunday morning and as check-in wasn't until 4pm took a trip along to Calum's Road which I highly recommend for some breathtaking scenery. Upon arrival back at the hotel we were treated to a tour of the distillery which was included in our stay free of charge which was a very nice touch. The tour was very informative and as well as taking us through the whisky and gin making process provided us with some background into the ethos of the distillery (the fact that the distillery and hotel now employs roughly 30% of the island is to be commended). Our room was beautifully furnished and had an amazing view of the Cuillin mountains on Skye, and even came with a complimentary bottle of Raasay Single Malt whisky! Again a very nice touch. The highlight of our stay was dinner which was served in the gathering room, again with beautiful views back towards Skye. We were presented with a 6 course tasting menu which was very reasonably priced for the quality of food and its presentation. I would honestly struggle to pick a favourite dish as they were all delicious but the rhubarb & custard dessert was exceptional. As some previous reviewers have mentioned, the location of the distillery & hotel is fairly remote, with the only way on and off of the island being by ferry. However I feel that this absolutely added to our experience, with the unspoilt scenery of the island providing an amazing backdrop a relaxing night away. All in all the distillery provided an exceptional experience from start to finish and I would highly recommend a stay.

The hotel is situated on a lovely small island and housed in a lovely building with great facilities but some of the staff and the levels of service let the place down. For example: • It can take an age to be served at the bar. • The breakfast facilities were not readily replenished, despite asking a few times. • The cooked breakfast was overcooked and very dry. • One of our rooms had not been replenished properly (two tea bags with enough milk for two cups only). The distillery tour and tasting was very good. The guide very knowledgeable. Despite the above we had a lovely time on Raasay and loved the views from the common areas of the hotel hence the four-star review.

What a truly excellent place. I was a solo traveller but was made very welcome by the staff. The location is spectacular with lots of great walks nearby. The hotel itself is done to a very high standard. Comfortable rooms with nice touches like a sample of whisky left for your enjoyment. Really liked the lounge area with a honesty bar. The tour of the distillery was very informative. Can't rave enough about this place and if I didnt live in NZ i would be a regular visitor.
