Our overnight stay with Hugh and Dwayne at the Barn was a highlight of our A2O bike ride. We were treated to genuine kiwi friendly hospitality, delicious meals including hors d’oeuvres on our arrival and a packed lunch on our departure, a fabulous French themed bedroom with very comfy bed and loved the cosy, inclusive feel of the eating and sitting area. A very special place with wonderful hosts and a poignant history

Hugh,Dwayne and Chris thank you so much for helping us out while we were on the A20 you were amazing. You have created a fantastic place to stay, we throughly enjoyed your company the glorious food the warm and very comfortable rooms. Very new Barn style two story B&B with the two proud owners hosting. Guest accomodation is seperate upstairs with four ample size bedrooms, all with ensuites. Hosts are colourful and entertaining, and join in over dinner. Dinner is home cooked, in our case, nibbles, entree, main Moroccan chicken with sides, all extremely enjoyable and ample. Beverages also provided including beer, gin, and lovely NZ wines to match. It could have been a very late night if it were not for the 10k bike hill climb awaiting us next morning (part of A2O). We were travelling as 3 couples and slept very well that night with full bellies. Thanks H & D - hope to be back !

This place was amazing. We stopped for a night whilst cycling the A2O and it quite literally took my breathe away. Hosts were hysterical, and great company. Food was top notch. Perfect in every way!! Swim in the lake if it’s warm enough!

What an amazing place and great hosts. The best experience you can have and such fantastic food. From the minute we arrived we were treated like family and nothing was too much trouble for Hugh and Dwayne. The accomodation and beds were super comfortable as well. Highly recommend it.

We have stayed with Hugh and Dwayne five times since our first visit in 2017. The original barn burned down in a bush fire in 2020, but Hugh and Dwayne caused this phoenix to rise from the ashes. I have nothing negative to say about The Barn and its hosts.

A real highlight on our A2O adventure. Hugh and Dwayne were the perfect hosts sensational food and great company. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. We had a fantastic meal with the world’s best duck fat potatoes served with incredible slow cooked lamb and roast veggies washed down with a wonderful Pinot. Great company and conversation with Hugh and Dwayne joining us for dinner. You guys are simply the best and deliver the best experience possible. Thanks for the perfect stay and the highlight of our trip 4 LOBs and 2 COBs

This was a wonderful place to stay. So original and social. The food was excellent, the rooms divine, and the company exquisite. A great start to our bike trip. We really enjoyed the chance to meet and socialize with the hosts and other bikers.
