It’s a very great resort and people out there is very kind. The restaurant Skybar has a beautiful seaside view. Johanny is very nice and kind to help us check in. Something went wrong with the air conditioner but they help change another room. Very great.

This is our fourth visit this time we decided to do a little bit differently. We love the adults only side but the rooms are a little dated so we booked a room at the Barcelo palace, premium level ocean front in building one, but spent most of our time, in fact, all of our time in the adults only section. The service in this resort is truly spectacular. The ladies by the pool, Belkis, Ava Marleny are truly superb and take care of you with wonderful service. You really don’t need to swim up bar with these ladies George and Marleny from the entertainment team always swing bye have a chat to you very welcome and invite you to do the Zumba etc.. The Buffay at Karibe is awesome. The selection is truly amazing the wait staff from one of the managers, Iris and Maria are such a welcome part to the day. The chefs are more than willing to make anything for you at breakfast not counting salads, cheeses and pastries. I counted 37 options , anybody who complains about this food he’s really not used to traveling I see a lot of mentions about five star you have to understand. This resort is a five star by Barcelo standards not by the international hotel ratings if you would compare this to a four seasons, Conrad, JD Marriott, or Ritz Carlton. Of course it’s not going to measure up, but at 350 at night all inclusive it’s hard to find fault . We met a lot of airline pilots and air crew at this resort. I think it’s fair to say that they are used to staying in pretty high-end properties. All of the pilots recommended Chez gourmet, and we’ve been a number of times. The service is exemplary, and the food is spectacular. My wife could not decide between lobster tail and château Briand so our wonderful server brought her both I must give a big shout out to Mabel and Premium services. She takes care of all our restaurant bookings. Make sure we get the room that we like, and always look out for us having an awesome It is true that the adults only side the rooms are old and in need of refurbishment and the resort is looking a little tired in some areas, but it is spotlessly clean very very well-maintained, and this price point is hard to beat We found our perfect four day vacation spot. We now arrive Sunday leave Thursday stay at the palace side in a premium level, oceanfront Jacuzzi room and spend our time enjoying the beach and the fabulous service at adults only side. I recently read a lot of reviews how people think the staff are surly and rude to be honest with you. I have always found that you get out what you put in , we always make time to chat with the staff. We tip consistently and accordingly and it is very well received. We find the staff at this resort to be exemplary. The lunch Buffay at Las Brisas is truly spectacular. You come ask the chefs to make anything that you like Please, PM me for any questions.

Hey all! As you have all expressed your fantastic thoughts, opinions and tips. I thought I would do the same. Your helpful hints and explanations were a great guide for us and I hope to do the same! A little background….we are a family of 4 (kid 10/4) traveling with another family of 4 (10/8). We had a master bedroom suite (club room 2311). We all went to the Finest last year and had a wonderful time as well. We have traveled to the DR frequently. 1. Arrival- we decided to do VIP arrival only because last year we were 30 minutes delayed from Newark and immagration took almost two hours and it was a night mare for us. The other party we flew with did not but the VIP and they were at the resort about 45 minutes after us. So in the end because of my 4 year old it was worth it. We started the vacation in the right mood VIP picks you up by golf cart from the plane to the VIP lounge. Your attend brings you in take your passports and transportation information and you are free to roam the small lounge. Soda, water beer wine and snacks are all there for your taking. She took our bag claim ticket to receive our luggage within 5 minutes we were out and off with beer wine water snacks in hand. They have a lovely bathroom (that we were barely able to use because it was so quick). We used destination meeting point for transfer without an problems… 25 minutes later we pulled up 2. We were greeted immediately, offered our name and was given our baggage tags. Whisked off to club lounge where we started the quick check in process. I asked to be introduced to our butler and Will was there waiting for us. He was the best! We saw him everyday he helped with reservations for 8. On the club level you can have bottle of non brand wine and liquor with mixers brought to your room. He made sure there was a bottle of wine and Dominican rum with mixers case of water, he would have cheese and crackers sent to our room chocolate covered strawberries alll without asking. He set up our room cleaning times and was a pleasure to be around. I will note we gave him $30 on check in $10 in between and $50 on our wait out. He was worth it in our opinion Key here is ask for what you are offer, need and want. Tip appropriate and all things will come to you 😀🤣 2. Our room was amazing spacious and lovely. We were 2311 (building 2) (floor 3) (11). If you are ocean view you want the last two number to be lower. The lower the number the closer to the beach! 3. I thought the food was amazing considering AI and the Finest last year. Remotest noodle and thread a must. The buffet Mercado was great too. Breakfast amazing and had some great dinner nights too We did waves for adults only dinner. Considering DR it was good. But if you are steak person you might be over the moon The coffee shop and ice pops and desserts are fantastic! 4. The resort is beautiful. 訪訪客Since this is our 8th trip to Punta Cana we have something to compare this resort to. Pro- air conditioning in room was great, enough plugs to charge electronics, housekeeping was good, staff was very friendly and accommodating (except for the staff at receptions), drinks were good, building 40 is a good location. Cons- food was just ok, bathrooms very small, refrigerator in room didn’t work, room service took 1hour and 20 minutes, there were issues with the front desk and when I questioned them about it he said yes I lied to you, furniture in room needs updated badly ( same lamp in room from our stay there 10 years ago) For what we spent going to Catalonia Royal we could have gone to a much nicer place, live and learn
訪訪客Ok. First off I don't know how anyone could give Marcos and Magdelina anything but 5 stars. They are both fluent in Spanish, English and several other languages which made everything very easy. When I wanted to practice on my Spanish Marcos would speak with me in Spanish and when I wanted to speak in English we spoke in English. If you read the other reviews, some people were confused about where they were and reviewed this place in error. I was traveling solo in the Dominican Republic as a single woman and I was slightly worried before arriving, but the second I walked into the garden late at night to check in - all my fears melted away. The family was sitting having a casual conversation with guests and the kids were playing on the ping pong table. They welcomed me like family. The most gracious couple I have ever met. In addition to being met by Marcos and Magdalena I was also met by a friendly dog which made this feel even more like home. As far as my room went, everything was clean, very spacious, had air conditioning in the bedroom, a mini fridge and some snacks and drinks in the minibar. I settled in immediately. I also ate dinner there every night because the food was so amazing! They have four different menus to choose from, including Dominican food, Caribbean and even Polish food. All of which was absolutely delicious. The service was incredible and it was a true experience that I will never forget. I even got to play air hockey with the kiddos! I almost don't want to write this review because I'm afraid I won't be able to get a reservation when I return next year! Now let's address the fact that this is not an all-inclusive resort. This is a small bed and breakfast that is run by a family. They have a recycle mentality and everything they had is reused and repurposed and I love that vibe. If you are one that wants fancy and luxury or no culture, this probably isn't the place for you. If you're a solo traveler that wants to feel like you're part of a family 1000% recommend. I will return to see them many many times. ♥️
訪訪客用戶Beautiful place to stay, but the service in front desk is not friendly, the guys who work there don’t have a good service attitude, I got a really bad time trying to get check out lat because my flight was delayed and we needed a place to stay, definitely I think this hotel has many good things except the front desk staff
JJuliette BernadetteWe had an okay trip to DR. The “hotel” is more like apartments, and people do seem to live here actually also. The rooftop pool is so awesome, and literally the best part of the place. The room is clean, but we killed probably 4-5 cockroaches in the room. Stove was all rusty. When arriving, the door didn’t lock & we were 2 women in their early 20s who are both > 130lbs. When requesting a new room, they “fixed” the door and refused to give us a new room. Scary location - we didn’t feel safe walking around at night here as women. Also, were scammed by a very nearby restaurant called “Bohio Punta Cana”. Free breakfast was awesome. No conditioner, only shampoo and “gel”? No hand soap. The shower seems to be salt water. I would honestly recommend staying on a resort if you come to DR, otherwise you might never want to come back.
訪訪客My wife and I stayed at this all inclusive resort for 4 days in late December 2022. On the positive side, the rooms were spacious and clean and the AC worked and the hotel was not too expensive. I guess you get what you pay for. On the negative side: - If you stay at the ”Royal” Hotel--which is the adults only part, and you are driving yourself, there are NO SIGNS indicating where that entrance is relative to the ”main entrance”...so we stupidly waited to check in for 20 minutes only to be told we were in the wrong lobby (which meant getting our bags back into the car and driving to the unmarked separate entrance). We should have known at this point that things would be less easy than we expected. - Their restaurant reservation system is totally screwed up (you actually have to QR scan each restaurant —they have 5— to make your own reservation—so if one is full then you go to the next and if that one is full you go to the next—totally crazy. There is no central restaurant reservation system. - Food is all you can eat but you would not want to. The sushi at the Asian restaurant was 95% rice and 5% fish. The fish offerings are mostly fried not grilled. The vegetables are miserly. Some restaurants simply do not offer a salad or vegetables. At the beach restaurant we ordered Nachos and guacamole and received a bowl full of nachos and one spoonful of guacamole! Water is served in small individual bottles which is so bad for the environment - We humored someone and let them pitch us their “exclusive travelclub”; big mistake, big waste of time, don’t fall for it - No one tells you that there is a check out procedure that is meant to ensure that you did not steal any of their beach towels……so I guess this is the kind of hotel/chain that attracts people who like to walk away with hotel towels….draw your own conclusions. - The staff are friendly but completely un-able to make any decision on their own or that might somehow deviate from their “procedures” (allowing you to sit at a table in a “closed off” area of a restaurant, redeeming your massage vouchers, expediting your check out, etc.
訪訪客!!! FINGER WEG BESONDERS FÜR TOURISTEN AUS EUROPA !!! Ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass ich sehr enttäuscht bin vom Hotel und der Umgebung hier. So hätten wir uns unseren Urlaub nicht vorgestellt. Aber zuerst zu den positiven Punkten: Positiv war: - Sauberkeit der Zimmer 7/10 - Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals 9/10 - Sauberkeit Pool 8/10 - Qualität und Angebot des Essens 7/10 Negativ war: Strand und Meer 1/10 Ein Grund warum Menschen dieser Welt die dominikanische Republik bereisen sind bestimmt die traumhaften Strände. Leider war dem überhaupt nicht so. Die vom Hotel zur Verfügung gestellten Strände waren komplett zugemüllt, voll mit Seegras und im Wasser konnte man kaum schwimmen vor lauter Seegras. Nebst dem, dass dies total ekelhaft war, sehe ich als Rettungsschwimmer auch eine Gefahr in solchem Gewässer überhaupt zu baden da die Bewegungsfreiheit stark eingeschränkt ist. Als wir das Management des Hotels darauf aufmerksam machten, sagten sie uns dass es Ihnen leid tut aber sie nichts dagegen tun können. Ich finde das eine Lüge da das Arbeitspersonal den Strand reinigen hätte können. Für uns war der Strand, sowie das Meer völlig unzumutbar. Personal und Management 3/10 Sehr freundlich, aber keiner spricht auch nur 1 Wort Deutsch. Bei einem 5 Sterne Standard ist eine Dienstleistung, die man in Anspruch nehmen darf. Ich empfand das Personal leider auch durchgehend schlecht gelaunt, bis auf einige wenige. Trotz zahlreicher versuche mit dem Management über die Missstände zu sprechen, wurden wir immer dreist abgewimmelt und darauf verwiesen zu warten. So verbrachte ich schlussendlich 4 Stunden meines Urlaubs in der Hotellobby. Die Beschwerden wurden belächelt aber nichts passierte. Eine weitere Respektlosigkeit dieses Hotels. Aktivitäten vom Hotel aus 2/10 Massentourismusattraktionen auf völlig veralteten, Sicherheitsriskanten, maximal umweltunfreundlichen und überteuerten Touren. So kann man das Angebot rund ums Hotel beschreiben. Leider bietet das Hotel von sich aus nur Tourenan die doppelt so teuer sind wie im Internet zu finden, über die Qualität möchte ich wirklich nichts mehr sagen, ausser unterste Schublade. Es gibt keine Möglichkeiten zu tauchen, Kitesurfen, Wakeboarden oder anderer Extremsportarten. Das Undercover Kinderhotel Leider wird man auch beim Hotel verarscht. Das Hotel teilt sich nämlich das Grundstück mit Nickelodeon. Dies führt dazu, dass es sehr viele Kinder hat und sehr viele Kinderattraktionen. Ich habe nichts gegen Kinder aber als Geschäftsmann möchte man einfach seine Ruhe in den Ferien geniessen und nicht permanent irgendwelchen Clowns, Kinderlieder, Hüpfburgen, Urin in den Pools und dem Geschrei ausgesetzt sein. Mittouristen im Hotel Ein weiterer Punkt war dass ich das Gefühl hatte der einzige Europäer zu sein. Alle sprachen Spanisch. Aus Europa schien tatsächlich gar niemand zu kommen. Wir waren auch die einzigen hellhäutigen. Ich habe da absolut nicht dagegen aber etwas komisch war das schon. Fazit L
