堤堤拉卡飯店(Titilaka Hotel)

An absolute must if you plan to visit Puno. It is not cheap but when you consider that the rate includes 3 meals a day and local guided tours and a magical setting it is well worth the 2 hour trip (transportation included) from the airport and the price. Highly recommend that you stay at least 3 nights to really relax and take advantage of all the experiences (astronomy lesson with stargazing, Uros island boat tour, bike tour, birdwatching, etc). Our guide Elmer was outstanding. Super fun, friendly and knowledgeable with excellent English language skill. We were lucky to have him all 3 days. Food is outstanding. Lots of local organic options including gluten free. Some menu items change each day and lots of cocktail options. The service is friendly and unpretentious. Rooms have staggeringly beautiful views and very comfortable. If you have time, don’t miss this place. We had a driver take us from Cusco to Puno with a stop at Rainbow mountain on the way (less busy side with ATV or motorbikes to take us to the top to avoid the grueling hike at super high altitude). Stayed 1 night in cheap hotel in central Puno town because we arrived too late to justify the additional night cost and wanted to see the town. The Titilaka hotel guide came to get us the next day.

La cocina de Titilaka fue simplemente espectacular con uso de ingredientes frescos y locales. El desayuno con una variedad sorprendente fue servido en un comedor que ofrece vistas panorámicas al lago. Las habitaciones, amplias y cuidadosamente diseñadas, ofrecen impresionantes vistas y cuentan con diferentes áreas para relaj**** y descansar. Además de las comodidades del hotel, tuvimos la oportunidad de embarc**** en una expedición a las Islas Uros y Taquile. Una experiencia verdaderamente espectacular que nos permitió sumergirse en la rica historia y tradiciones locales. Con la ayuda de un guía experto, pudimos explorar la zona y degustar auténticos platos típicos mientras disfrutamos de vistas maravillosas de la isla. Cada tarde, en Titilaka se enciende una fogata que crea un ambiente mágico, invitando a apreciar la impresionante puesta de sol sobre el lago, acompañada de una copa de vino y deliciosos aperitivos. Además, el hotel ofrece acceso directo a la playa y cuenta con una piscina climatizada, brindando opciones para disfrutar tanto del agua del lago como de las instalaciones del hotel. Lo que realmente distingue a Titilaka es su servicio excepcional, caracterizado por la atención y la dedicación de su personal, siempre dispuesto a ayudar en cada detalle. Durante nuestra estancia, nos sentimos sumamente cómodos y bienvenidos, lo que hizo que nuestra experiencia en este maravilloso lugar fuera verdaderamente inolvidable.

We stayed 2 nights in the resort in Sep, 2023. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I highly recommended the resort to people who want to visit Lake Titicaca. # Location The resort is NOT in Puno but further south. It is about 1 hour from Puno and 2 hours from Juliaca airport. The resort does provide complimentary train station / airport pickup & drop-off, but it does add some overhead when getting in & out of the resort. Being in a remote location also has benefits: (1) The resort is on the beach, and there is a lagoon nearby. The lake view is fantastic and environment is very serene. We enjoyed every minute in the resort. (2) The resort is about 45 mins boat ride from Taquile island. We took the day trip, and it took 90 mins from the resort to the floating island, 90 mins from the floating island to Taquile, and 45 mins from Taquile back to the resort. So in total 225 mins boat ride can take you to both floating island and Taquile. I guess it is a similar amount of effort if you want to visit both the floating island and Taquile from Puno. # Room & Facility The room is spacious and well equipped. Our room has the superb lake view, and I was able to watch the sunrise from the bed. It is also very quiet at night and we had good sleep during our stays. The resort also has many common areas with comfortable sofas, couches, and great views. We spent some time enjoying coffee, tea, and snacks in the common areas. # Service The service is top notch. The great experience started from the train station pick-up, where the resort not only provided a driver, but also an English-speaking guide. They also accommodated us to visit a local pharmacy to buy some supplies. The van is also well equipped with hot towels and bottle water. The excursions were also great. We took a 8-hour boat tour to visit the floating island and Taquile. The resort has their own boats, captions, and guides, and all excursions seem to be in small groups (~5 guests with 1 caption and 1 guide). In the floating island and Taquile island, we had similar demonstrations from the local people (as other larger groups), but the experiences feel more VIP due to the smaller group. We had lunch in a local restaurant on Taquile. The view was fantastic, overseeing both sides of the island. Being vegetarians, we were initially concerned about the food, but it seemed that the resort prepared and transported the food to the restaurant, and thus the food quality is very similar to the resort. # Food We are vegetarians. The restaurant is a la carte style and they changed a part of the menu every day. They have plenty of vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is quite delicious and delicate, very comparable to the best restaurants in larger cities such as Cusco.

This was our second visit. We were two couples both in corner rooms. The rooms are beautiful with excellent views, comfortable beds and great bathrooms. A/c works great, just remember to use the light off switch on the remote. Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and room was very good. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed a few hikes and a visit to euros. It’s a good idea to take advantage of the full day boat tour when the weather is good otherwise the rough lake conditions can limit your access to some spots. A local band played very good music in the lobby one evening before dinner that should not be missed. The food is very good with excellent vegetarian options and unique dishes. Tip for dining, you can ask for anything off the menu including parts of other dishes. It’s really important to hydrate, and take oxygen if needed. Several people became ill during our stay and missed out on activities. 12500 feet is no joke ! The entire team at Titilaka is good as any in the world at hospitality. They are always ready with a smile and to make your stay a memorable one. Congratulations to Titilaka at maintaining a first class experience!

Fantastic location and wonderful hotel with such a great team of staff, inclusive of a wide selection of local trips. Took the full day trip to Uros, one of the floating islands to learn a little about how they were constructed and island life. Sailed on to Taquile to experience more local heritage and enjoy a superb lunch outdoors with stunning views of the area, together with some of our lovely fellow guests from the hotel. What a special few days we spent in this hotel.

Words can’t describe our experience as never before have we had such a stay You arrive and the first thing you see is the lake and it’s wow The second is your room ( ours was a Dawn Room ) Third the staff they are like no other staff you will ever meet Every member of the team is fantastic from the guides to the front desk to the waiters and waitresses everyone is trained to give you an unforgettable time The food is great , good cocktails and wine I struggled with altitude and they sorted oxygen for me We went to the floating islands and to another island with Albert our guide who made the trip so very personal and made the day unforgettable . He’s a credit to the team Each night there was a hot water bottle in our bed and slippers laid out and the room just wonderful Thank you for giving us the time of our lives ,we will never forget our stay

Un excelente hotel, con vistas, servicios y atención de primera… Muy buena ubicación, a la orilla del lago… una calma impresionante… Ubicación ideal para hacer tours por las islas y pueblos cercanos Genial!

I was touring Peru to celebrate a friend's 60th Birthday. The key event for the milestone birthday was Machu Picchu via Cusco and the Sacred Valley, but we had also booked time in Lima and Iquitos. Friends from England suggested a few days at Titilaka, and we were so glad to have accepted their recommendation. My friends and I LOVED this Oasis in Peru. In addition to enjoying an amazing adventure on Lake Titicaca we were able to kick back and relax a bit and enjoy the amazing food and service offered at Titilaka. One of my favourite parts of our stay was the Sundowner, where we had the chance to enjoy a bonfire by the lakeside while enjoying amazing sunsets. The opportunity to mingle with other guests while enjoying predinner drinks and appetizers was a lovely touch. I highly recommend Titilaka and will be researching Relais & Châteaux locations for future travels.

We had a fabulous time at Titilaka. The hotel and its surroundings are truly gorgeous, the food was amazing and most importantly, the kindness of the staff is beyond words! There are plenty of activities to do at the hotel and on the lake (visit of the islands, kayaking on the lake, stargazing, local crafts, etc.). Everything is included and taken care of for you from the minute you arrive there… And even before as they take care of your airport transfers too. We fell in love with this place and I’ll never forget watching the sun rise over Titicaca lake from our room in the morning! And every night, everyone gathers around a bonfire to watch the sunset on the lake with a glass of wine. It was truly a magical experience.
