"This was our 8th visit to KJ, which probably says more than anything about how much we love the hotel. We also recognised lots of familiar faces among the guests, including people we’ve seen on previous visits – another sign of how many loyal returning guests the hotel has. The staff remain the biggest strength. Every member of the team, from the restaurant staff to housekeeping, works incredibly hard to make guests feel welcome. ( Andre, Tarek, Osama (1+2) along with Dennis, Assam and Bogdun and our cleaner need special mentions). We also witnessed a few medical incidents during our stay and the staff responded quickly, calmly and compassionately. They really do deserve enormous credit. However, as returning guests, I do feel there is a noticeable difference between the hotel now and a few years ago. Some areas and rooms are looking tired and really do need some TLC. In our own room, for example, there was a broken window, a door handle that was not working properly and an iron that constantly leaked. These may sound like relatively small things, but when you add them together, they give the impression that some maintenance has been allowed to slip. I’m sure regular guests know the hotel well enough to feel safe and simply work around these things, but if this had been our first visit, I think I would have been much more concerned. When you are paying for a hotel of this standard, you expect the basic fixtures and equipment in the room to be properly maintained. Hopefully the planned refurbishment will address these issues. One change I particularly hope they reconsider is the water around the pool. The chilled bottled water that guests used to be able to help themselves to from the fridge has been completely stopped. Instead, filtered tap water is provided in reusable containers with plastic cups. Unfortunately, several of us noticed an unpleasant smell from the water/cups – honestly, it reminded us of wet dog. We completely support the sustainability objective, but there must surely be a better way of providing chilled, fresh-tasting drinking water. We also missed some of the lovely little touches from previous visits, such as the bottle of fizz on arrival and the small local treats in the room. They aren’t necessities, but they were details that made the stay feel special. On the sunbed situation, I have to say I see this slightly differently to some reviews. There are enough sunbeds for guests, although the popular ones obviously go quickly as some are in the shade all day. I’m quite happy to get up early and choose the particular sunbed I like. If someone is actually using the bed, I don’t think they should be criticised for getting there early. For me, the bigger issue is beds being left unattended for hours. Despite these points, we still had an enjoyable stay and would absolutely recommend KJ. We won’t be returning next year for the first time in many years, partly because of the refurbishment, but we’ll be watching with inter"

"This was our third stay at Sunrise Jade, and honestly, you just can’t beat it! Every time we visit, we’re reminded why we keep coming back! The staff are exceptional. A special mention to Anna in the restaurant – she is an absolute gem! Whether she was serving breakfast, the evening meal or working in the ice cream shop, she was always so friendly, welcoming and genuinely lovely. The reception team were also incredibly helpful throughout our stay, and the bar staff made the best mango daiquiris. The food in the Ginger Restaurant was amazing, delicious and beautifully presented. Our room was spotless every day, with fresh towels provided daily. We love that pool beds are allocated, which means there’s no need for the usual early morning rush to reserve a sunbed, it’s a more relaxing way to start the day. The location is perfect too. It’s close enough to walk into the Protaras strip when you fancy a bit of atmosphere, but far enough away to enjoy peace and tranquillity. We especially love the beautiful walks along the coastline. Another fantastic holiday at Sunrise Jade, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again next year."

"Stayed here as a family of 5 in August. The Hotel is at the very start of the strip. Hotel looks from the outside in need of some tlc, lots of cracks visible on the balconies for example. Inside the hotel I would say I’d clean and tidy. Rooms again clean and tidy and cleaned daily. No complaints really, being picky id have liked a more powerful shower, but thats all. Working safe in the room was good too have. Our board was bnb only. The breakfast we were not impressed by, compared to other hotels we’ve used in the past couple of years, the buffet was not good in comparison. Cooked option was limited and not great in quality. Nothing like pancakes or poached eggs being cooked. I’d call the breakfast basic. Pool are was full of beds. People are free to put towels down whenever they feels like it. We saw people putting them down at night for the next day. Pool itself we really liked. It’s only 1.3m deep max, and it gets the sun all day which means it stays a really nice temperature, never cold to get into. The adult part was fine, swim up bar which is nice. Issues for us with the Pool were it’s a public pool which no one mentioned. At the weekend it gets packed with people not staying at the hotel. They took over the adult pool area and and bar and sat there all day giving no one else the chance to use it. Unfair for paying guests I’d say, but that’s my opinion. Staff seemed friendly enough. Location wise, if you want to be closer to the beach, and more importantly fig tree bay, I’d stay somewhere closer. Overall I’d say this is good for its rating and price range. But nothing stood out for me that would make me want to stay here again."

"I stayed here for a week and left today. Staff were lovely and building is nice and modern however whenever we was in our room we could hear everyone in their rooms. Next to us there was someone screaming at his partner for a few hours then I think he left and new people came in. The thin walls made it so we could hear their tv all day and night. We also saw a cockroach in the hall way and below is a picture of pink sausages we had at breakfast. Not worth the money. Very disappointed as we spent a lot of money to be there"

"The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and in a great location, with easy access to the beach and the promenade. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. We booked an all-inclusive stay, but the lunch and dinner were not very good. The food was bland, lacked flavour, and it often felt like the same food was being served for lunch and then again for dinner, sometimes reheated. The breakfast and snack time were good, but because of the quality of the lunch and dinner, we ended up eating out every single day. When you pay a significant amount for an all-inclusive holiday, having to pay for dinner outside the hotel every day is far from ideal. Another issue was the power banks available in the lobby and by the pool. In my experience, these were essentially a scam. About a week after returning home, I was charged money from my card, and despite trying to contact the company responsible for the power banks, I have had no response. I find it very strange and disappointing that a hotel of this standard allows such an unreliable company to operate on its premises. That said, I want to give special recognition to George at the reception bar. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and service-minded throughout our stay. Five stars to him! Some of the staff serving breakfast and lunch were also excellent. Overall, the hotel itself is lovely and has a great location, but unfortunately, the food really let the experience down. I would not return unless the food improves. When paying this much for an all-inclusive holiday, having to eat dinner elsewhere every day is simply not acceptable."

"I paid for a double room and it had a view of the beach. And I got a room where I could see palm trees, but there was a door connecting to the next room. You could hear all the noise! There was a child crying, then a few days later there was moaning. I complained but nothing was done. After the 9th day they offered me another room, so for 2 days I didn't see the point in moving. So I don't really recommend this hotel to anyone."
