波扎洛飯店

The 2 of us have arrived at the hotel just before 9pm and the first thing we heard was that we have 3 mins to throw the bags to the room, otherwise we won’t see any dinner lol. And not in a pleasant manner. We managed to get to the restaurant in time, where a very strange lady and two members of 18 year old staff were doing everyone a favore serving dinner. The food was mediocre, not worth a mention but the attitude of the strange woman (which I suspect was an owner of the hotel) was nothing but bizzarre and unpleasant. Together with another table of 9 guests we could not stop commenting about the weird treatment that you get at this hotel. The moment I finished the dish the waiter was running to take the plate from the table even though my partner was still halfway through his dinner. They could not wait to get rid of everyone. The plumbing in the place was so old and loud that we were woken up by the neighbour next door having shower. I thought that the pipe will literally jump out of the wall. And that was at 6am. Pillows smelled of sweat a little. I am definitely never coming back.

A beautiful setting, isolated and quiet, with a lovely pool area. We stayed in a suite that was very roomy, with a large double bedroom and a smaller single room upstairs. Downstairs had a small kitchen corner (which we didn't use other than the refrigerator) as well as a dining table and chairs and a comfortable sofa. Sky TV with all the sports channels (in Italian, obviously) was a nice surprise and came in useful as we weren't lucky with the weather. There are no other restaurants within walking distance - it's a 15 minute drive into Modica - so we ate at the restaurant every night for a week. This was not a problem as everything we ate was DELICIOUS. Enough variation on the menu to eat something different every night if you wanted to, but the dishes we had early on were so good we had them all twice. The best pinsas I've ever tasted - a world away from 'pizza' in the UK. Very reasonable prices as well, including wine. We only spent one day by the pool (because of the weather!) but it looked as though there would be plenty of sunbeds available even if all the guests decided to visit. Most importantly, all the hotel and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which really made the stay as good as it could be.

Excellent Boutique hotel in Modica. Rooms have all the comfort necessary to enable a very peaceful and rewarding stay. Good TV, Wifi, coffee machine, great bathrooms, and all the necessary comfort. Then there is the food. Those who wake up with a good appetite will not be disappointed for sure. Equally good are the lunches and the dinners, supported by a very good bar. The reception staff also go out of their way to help you with everything that you need. Also good relaxation and wellness facilities. and above all everything is spotlessly clean while Spa is immediately cleaned after every client's use. In conclusion- if one is seeking an excellent place in South East Sicily- especially for the Maltese who came to Sicily frequently, Then this is the place to choose. An added bonus is that the Hotel is surrounded by good shops.
