Had a two night stay here at the start of November, traveling solo, and used IHG points for one night, and a free night award plus a few points for the second night. Club membership upgraded me to a ridiculously large two bathroom suite with view to the pool and water beyond. The property was very well maintained and great design. Desk staff was all friendly and very helpful. It is in a nice location for seeing things at the north end of the island. At the edge of the property there was a convenient trail head to go over to Cabrits park. The grounds were very nice and pool area extensive and clean. The first day I didn’t eat there as I had huge late lunch up at Keepin’it Real about 8-10 minutes north of the property. The service by the pool and open air restaurant/bar was horrendous. Tons of smirks on their faces and trying to do everything but help customers. At checkout I was like well I would have spent another $150-200 here if the service hadn’t been so damn bad. There was hardly anyone at the hotel so it isn’t like they were the slightest bit busy. Very few people out around the pool either day. One guy at the pool bar even refused to bring me a drink menu. I was like ***? He goes “oh the menus are all out on the tables, you can (dig out) and use your phone and scan a QR code”. Wow, what a clown. The menus were sitting at mostly empty tables. When I came back about half a hour later and that clown was gone, I asked the other bartender who finally came over to the couch area for a menu and she went and got one. They were all pretty bad. No one would come out to the chaise lounges by the pool to serve anyone either. The room was over the top inside and very nice, including the only comfortable bed I had on the whole island, including Secret Bay and Jungle Bay. Only complaint about the room was I couldn’t get the AC to go over about 77 or so. It actually got pretty cool in the room at night so I had to turn the AC off around 11 and then at like 5 in the morning turned it back on. The fans had remotes with speed controls, but there was only one speed…turbo fast. So didn’t use them. They had a rum bar but it was closed and I was told it was open only on weekends unless it was a busier season. That ******. Was glad I gave their restaurant a chance the second night. The food was excellent. Started off with a goat water soup. It had a small amount of goat but a ton of flavor. A great seasoned curry broth. Then for entrée had a fantastic local lobster linguine in cream wine sauce. It had quite a bit of lobster in it. Wines and cocktails at the property were all good too. The breakfast buffet each morning had plenty on it and it was all good, and you could order omelets and the like too. Only complaint is that was the only option. They said when it is busier they offer an ala carte menu too. Really dumb. I had no need for a buffet at $35 USD. I can’t believe the amount of food I saw people packing away at the b
