It’s been a few years since we have been at The Crown. It was always well run and the food was fresh and delicious. Well today we went and the food was very obviously frozen microwaved crap and expensive. Will not be back, obviously catering for the one time tourists and not caring about repeat customers. Spoke to a local chap in the village who said no locals use it as it’s so bad.

Well this review is for staff member SUSAN…..what a fantastic pleasant and friendly person sorry for being late in reviewing lol 😂 GOOD STAFF MAKE THE PUB….see you again next year when we are back at our Caravan Russell don’t be getting jealous hahaha 🤣 David & Fi xxx

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The staff very friendly and the breakfast first class. Only negative would be the pillows, which I found very uncomfortable however that’s a subjective judgement. Bar downstairs was a welcome distraction. Would definitely recommend.

The food is mediocre at best, as others have stated, it’s not fresh and at £19 a meal expensive. Even worse is the barman, incredibly rude and curt to the point of being offensive. He has zero social skills and shouldn’t be behind a bar. Avoid as there are alternatives a stones throw away.

Excellent local pub with lots of character inside especially for both locals and tourists. Outside seating with glorious bay views is available.Good choice on the menu including traditional Scottish and locally sourced dishes at reasonable prices. I can highly recommend the venison casserole with freshly cooked vegetables. The portion sizes are hearty. They have only one locally brewed ale and prices reasonable. If you are in Port Patrick give this pub and it’s food a try and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

A truly unique and tasty experience. We had walked to the lifeboat shop at the harbour and saw a fishing boat arrive and unload its various catches. They were placed in a van and driven a couple of hundred yards to the Crown. We went there and managed to get a table for lunch. The lobster thermidor was fantastic. Service was good and an interesting touristy atmosphere.
