巴利芬德門飯店(Ballyfin Demesne)

I'm giving Ballyfin 1 star - I am unable to comment on the hotel or the food... why I hear you ask? Well it's because unless you are a resident you can not enter the hotel grounds or dine at lunchtime... this, I must say, was not clear on their website. So after driving over an hour from Dublin, and 20 minutes round the back roads of Laois, to be told I couldn't dine as I was not a resident was more than disappointing to say the least. She did offer to add me to the 'non resident waiting list' for dinner which I politely declined. ( BTW this conversation took place over an intercom at the gate). I'm sure it's a lovely hotel worthy of its 5 stars but not for non residents.

This is an amazing hotel with great staff who have a great attention to detail. I loved the bedroom, the reception rooms and the grounds. I'd love to go back in different seasons to see how the grounds change. The history of the building is really interesting so if you go, make sure and do the guided tour,

Vielleicht das Top-Haus der "Relais&Chateaux" Gruppe in Europa - und von den sehr guten gibt es viele ! Interieur, Exterieur, Restaurant, Spa und vor allem Mitarbeiter und Direktion sind über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Mehr Lob kann man gar nicht erteilen.

A beautiful stunning place with excellent staff who really go above & beyond. We ate in the bar & the food was lovely. It’s a very quiet relaxing place with antique decor & beautiful fireplaces throughout. Rooms are unique & spacious. Lovely place well worth a visit.

As my husband and I sat down for dinner on the first night of our mini honeymoon, Tom, the incredibly talented pianist, began playing the exact song I’d walked down the aisle to just two days beforehand. I don’t know how the Ballyfin staff could have known or planned that, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out it was a thoughtful orchestration rather than serendipity. Photos hardly do justice to the detailed perfection of the stunning property and grounds, but they absolutely do not capture how you will feel thanks to the Ballyfin team: at ease, welcome, and special. We had never experienced the level of warmth, unobtrusive attentiveness, and hospitality as the Ballyfin staff displayed during our stay. And we’re not sure we’ll find it anywhere else. They anticipated our every need and, yet, so often we felt as if we had the gorgeous estate all to ourselves. And there was no shortage of things to do. In our two days, we learned the history of the property on a tour with the knowledgeable and hilarious Joe, saw almost every county in Ireland from the top of the on-site tower, relaxed on the lake in a row boat and then took in the breathtaking view during a lakeside picnic, explored the impeccably kept gardens, rode complimentary bikes around the entire perimeter of the wooded grounds, and really got our heart rates up while clay pigeon shooting with the skilled and oh-so patient Glenn. But we could have spent the entirety of our time simply appreciating the beauty and design of the mansion itself. And finally, the food. I could write a whole other review about the exquisite culinary experience at Ballyfin. Every meal was perfection from the eggs Benedict to the artfully curated tasting menu. And we loved that everything featured fresh ingredients grown right on the property. Each bite was truly a delight, but I’d be remiss to leave out how the wine recommendations from Conor entirely elevated our dinners. His guidance made us fall in love with wines we’d normally overlook and the pairings unlocked a kind of culinary nirvana. In short, Ballyfin is heaven. We can’t wait to return one day and experience even more.

Big drop in Service levels and no management to be seen to ensure things are running well. Was looking forward to my revisit, but it has changed. They need to really up things or I would recommend to people not to stay here for the price they want. High price with poor service is just not good enough.

As a very frequent flyer, someone traveling over 250 days a year and accumulating over 9,000,000 miles on American Airlines, I have been almost everywhere I’ve ever wanted to go. Ireland was something I had not experienced yet. A friend suggested Bally Finn, and when I googled it, I saw this magnificent Country home that I could just move in. All I would need would be the money! My three days there or one of the best three days I’ve ever had on holiday. The decor, the ambience, the delicious food catered to your every whim, the extremely attentive staff who are very informative, accommodating, And friendly. And let’s not forget Claire Russell who walks around and make sure that everyone there is taken care of and doesn’t need anything and everything is right the way you want it or need it. I can’t recommend any place any higher than I would be. I experienced the horse and buggy ride, the picnic in the picnic house, the historic tour of the homeand many roaring fires in the afternoons. The spa is great and I had a day of beauty. The pool couldn’t be any more tranquil and a lovely sauna as well. I can’t wait for my next trip back!
