The place was dirty, I mean grime. Soap scum on tiles was thick, every tile in bathroom was dirty. Floor was horrendous. Air conditioning vents were blocked with dust and who knows what else. Mould in cupboards was a health hazzard. Not on the beach but opposite weedy creek zone. Not what I paid for. The hot water was good and when we couldn't close balcony doors it was fixed promptly.

We were given an “upgrade” to a three bedroom apartment- a bit over the top for 2 people. It was furthest from the pool. We had booked a two bedroom executive renovated apartment close to the main pool but the one we were allocated was quiet and had fly screens throughout ( be aware that not all apartments have fly screens). This apartment was very well equipped with everything you would need - plenty of cutlery and crockery and glasses. We would go back out of school holidays as the few kids who were there were very boisterous and “chased” those of us seeking peace and quiet away. Overall ask for a ground floor renovated apartment with fly screens so you can sleep with the windows open.

This is not a luxury resort . I booked 3 bed flat , we were put on the top floor , room number 39. It was shocking the standard of everything. The decor was so old and tied . The mattresses lumpy with springs sticking out. The smell of damp in the whole area of the flat was awful. Holes in walls, the decor in lounge and bedrooms needed updating 10 years ago , the same for the bathrooms . There is limited supply of everything, one toilet , no toiletries. There were 5 of us and 4 coffee pods provided. You had to buy extra pods £1 per pod from reception as local supermarkets don’t sell them ! We have spent 3 weeks touring Australia snd every place we stayed provided an abundance of basics to see you through , not here ! We complained to reception about the poor standard and quality , they offered to try and find a better quality flat but not until the following day with the hope one became available. They agreed the flat was not up to standard . Apparently some flats are privately owned and it’s up to owners to update them. It’s potluck what you are allocated . We booked through *********** and this is not explained on the site that flats are privately owned. It is not a luxury resort . We did not stay here so can’t comment on facilities , we checked out as soon as we found something else . Fortunately the manager was very understanding and agreed to our full refund.

Un bel emplacement et un cadre agréable qui permet de bien profiter de la plage. Dommage cependant que l'accueil n'ait pas été à la hauteur, assez hautain, ce qui est un comble au prix auquel on paye le séjour.

Mandalay is a beautiful place to stay - you feel at home straight away. Our unit was very spacious, clean & comfortable with everything we needed. The atmosphere and very friendly and welcoming staff and management are great. I loved most the fact that it is in a very quiet area yet so close to town (an easy walk) and beach just across the road. Sunshine and happy days at Mandalay!

We recently stayed at The Mandalay Luxury Apartments in unit 31. This unit is a 3-bedroom Ground Floor Executive Apartment which we requested as we were traveling with our elderly parents. The apartment was large and beautifully decorated with everything we needed for a great stay it also had 3 bathrooms which we weren't expecting so that was a great surprise for us as this meant we all had our own bathroom. We had a private courtyard with our own gate to access the beach across the road. Unfortunately, late in our stay we had trouble with our fridge. Anna and Bernie were very helpful, but unfortunately, we had to move apartments which was a bit disappointing at the time, but Bernie and Anna made the move easy and quick and once we were all moved into Unit 12 on the first floor, we enjoyed the views of the pool area and were all very happy with this apartment. The only difference with this apartment was it had 2 bathrooms not 3 but that wasn't a problem. A big shout out to Bernie who helped us through our stay, nothing was a problem for him, and he was always happy to help. Having two pools in the complex was great and we had the smaller pool all too ourselves each time we went there. If you want a specific apartment, contact them directly and request what you are looking for as they are only too happy to help and make your stay a happy one. We will definitely stay there when we go back to Port Douglas in the future. Highly recommend The Mandalay Beachfront Apartments especially the Executive Apartments.

The Mandalay apartments provided excellent accommodation. We were upgraded on our arrival to a 2 bedroom apartment with private verandah, dining table, cosy seating and sun loungers. Accommodation was clean and tidy and new lounge furniture had just been installed! Great trips offered, we went to the Great Barrier Reef and did a sunset sail. Plenty of restaurants a short walk away and the well fitted kitchen allowed for home cooking. The beach is just across the road from the apartment safe swimming zones and a lifeguard who is there all day reporting on the status of swimming. We were sad to be leaving the Mandalay, staff were great and extended our check out so we had use of the accommodation until we were transferred to the airport!

Wonderful 3 bedroom apartment. Huge and comfy with everything we needed. We went as a family of 5 with 2 couples and it was perfect. Has a purple scooter park out the front that we used to go to and from town to save driving. Lots of fun! Would recommend. :)

What fabulous service, the Mandalay team looked after us so very well throughout our stay assisting us with tour bookings and up to date information about Port Doublas and surrounding areas. Our three bedroom apartment was very comfortable with easy access to 4 mile beach. This is our third stay at Mandalay and we will certainly be going back. Thankyou Mandalay Team

Very well appointed, spotlessly clean and friendly staff. Ideally located for Port Douglas and the beach. Apartments are very well fitted out, air conditioned and spacious. Would happily visit again.

Absolutely fantastic apartments in a perfect location. We loved being able to walk across the (very very quiet back road) road to the beach and walk to the swimming area (＜100m). Such a stunning beach and we loved Port Douglas town as well. Our apartment was beautiful and spacious and v well equipped and the kids loved playing in the pool. Very very highly recommended

The staff were friendly and professional and the grounds, gardens and outdoor facilities are great. But unit 9 needs a lot of TLC , shower head in front room won't lock in place, the soap holder fell of the wall, the washing machine doesn't work properly, the dining chairs are way to low, the house broom was filthy, the sliding loover doors are rusted up and won't close properly so no real privacy from the street, curtains in front room have mould and need laundering, microwave oven not fitted properly and the tv in the front bedroom doesn't work, the blue tooth speaker system doesn't work and the day lounges very stained.

Beautiful 3 bedroom apt. Very clean, bed comfortable, shower pressure both bathrooms was strong fabulous large flatscreen tv bedroom, and living room. Kitchen was very well stocked not one complaint and Kerrie the welcoming agent was so sweet and cordial. I would definitely stay here and definitely recommend. We are from New York.

The rooms were very luxurious with our own private garden and direct access to the beach. The pool was fabulous and the staff were friendly and very welcoming. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone.
