Would give 3.5 stars. Fantastic pool and lounge area, less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 into ”town”. Not very good for a romantic getaway like i booked it for though, as the walls/doors are thin and you can hear noises from the outside very easily (aka crying/yelling kids and people leaving their rooms early AM) so that meant no sleep ins. The tub on the balcony is a nice touch but it's not fully private so other hotel guests can see you getting into and out of it. Pool bar is not swim up, but still has good drinks that you can order to your beach chair. The restaurant does a small menu, papaya salad was one of the best I've ever had. Breakfast was lacklustre, the bread and refrigerated items are left out open for the flies to sit around on. Needs screens/ doors. Had the other classics like scrambled eggs, bacon and mushrooms. They lit tiki torches around the pool at night, was a nice touch. Free parking was great, albeit a little confusing. Overall I wouldn't go back due to the lack of quietness/privacy feeling, because my partner and I like more ”romantic” holidays whereas this seemed more geared towards family friendly.
My mum and I shared room 15. The configuration was perfect for us, as it was actually 2 rooms with a common entrance opened up, so Mum was able to have 15B to herself. This meant she not only had her own bedroom, but her own bathroom, kitchenette, veranda, outdoor chairs and table, spa, sun lounge and pool ladder! I was in 15A (a double room in itself) and we used its much larger lounge, kitchen (full size with dishwasher), veranda and spa as our common area. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers. The pool isn't heated but it was in the sun from early morning so, even in August, I found the water plenty warm enough. It's always beautifully clean too, without noticeable chlorine, only slightly salty, good mix. Excellent location, next door to Zinc restaurant and bar, which is on the corner of Davidson and Macrossan Street. Short stroll to the beach. If you're not able to manage the walk all the way down Macrossan St to the inlet, there is a great shuttle bus service available (SR Coaches) to take you anywhere in Port Douglas for a fixed price of $8 one way or $14 return. Just call their mobile number to tell them where you are and they'll be there in a flash.
We loved our stay at paradise links resort! We had a two bedroom apartment, which is actually a studio room and one bedroom apartment combined. Loved the coffee machine and comfortable couches and nice big comfortable bed. The resort is lovely and quiet. The main pool looks beautiful but isn’t heated, however the other pool is heated and is very nice. The apartments do need a bit more maintenance, crockery could be replaced and the cabinetry in the studio room is chipped and old, but even so we loved staying here and would do so again!
We have stayed at a few places in Port Douglas and can honestly say this was the best. Reception staff and Managers Pete and JoJo were very efficient and friendly. They organised a shuttle bus to collect us from the airport. We decided to stay here as it is an adults only hotel. We stayed in an Ocean view room then to accommodate our 14 night stay moved to a Coral view room. Both rooms were excellent with a view of the ocean. Rooms were serviced daily and contained a variety of coffee pods, tea, milk and water. The housekeeping staff were very friendly as well, always greeted us with a smile. The Hitide restaurant offered a beautiful Breakfast every morning, lots to choose from an a la carte menu. The chefs did an excellent job, we complimented them daily. The waitresses were very good, Madi greeted us every morning and knew our coffee and tea orders without having to tell her each morning. The pool area was nice, over 2 levels. 6 sets of deck chairs on each level. Also had some chairs scattered throughout the pool area. The pool was on the bottom level. We didn’t struggle to find a chair when we decided to stay by the pool. We did enjoy going to the beach which was just across the road from the hotel. There was a communal laundry -washing machines and dryers which was very convenient. Plenty of restaurants to choose from all within walking distance. We did use SR COACHES to get to the Sheraton hotel when we visited the restaurant there, cost us $28 for 2 people return trip. Overall highly recommend Peninsula Boutique, will never stay anywhere else!! Look forward to our next trip.
Such a cozy little motel. Nice comfy rooms very clean. Perfect little pool and BBQ area at the back so kids can swim while we were relaxing around the barbecue clear view of the pool. Mark was super helpful with all of our needs. Also a few tradies there who were always good for a interesting chat:). Highly recommend and would stay again
Our family of 5, including three teenagers stayed for 5 night at this hotel: What we liked: Location: although on the main road to lovely Port Douglas, it has a short back pathway to the superb 4-miles beach. 15' walk to most restaurants, shops, marina, cafes. This said we drove around Family room was spacious enough for five. There was also a kitchenette and kitchen ware. Well working air conditioning and ceiling fans Nice curvy pool beautifully embedded into the hotel courtyard. Plus a jacuzzi our kids loved. Not really a pool for swimming but very relaxing and very appreciated by children around i noticed. Funnily enough, in spite of how exposed it was to the pool area and the other rooms around, our room was quiet. Available and free parking in the garage Things that need improvement: On arrival in the evening we were given a room on the basement that did not correspond to our booking months before for a room with a nice pool view. The reception was not able to solve the issue that evening. We complained to the manager and she organised the change of rooms the following morning. Thank you Karisa! To our surprise, the room was not serviced during our 5-day stay. When we asked on day 2 we were told that it was at an extra cost. I do not remember having read about that on the Accor web site when booking. A change of towels is only offered for stays of + 4 nights. Given the cost of the stay and that we eat out and therefore we do not use the kitchen, not having the family room cleaned is suboptimal. The safe box needs an extra key from the reception to be operational. Not sure if that is for free or a paid service. Bathrooms and amenities are adequate. We cannot comment on breakfast as we did not try it. There is a tennis court and a small fitness room too, but we did not use those either.
