We found this very disappointing. We had not realised or had not been informed that there were no facilities for breakfast on site, not even a breakfast pack. We had to drive about 15 minutes away to find something. There was no room service in the two nights we were there so we had to rewash and reuse cups and glasses and of course, as in most hotels, the tissues ran out after a few uses. The leaking shower door ensured we had a soggy bath mat for the full time we were there. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable but for this price we would normally expect more.

We loved our stay at Thistle Hill celebrating our 20th Anniversary. We were welcomed when we arrived, and shown to our very comfortable room. It’s located perfectly within walking distance of a number of wineries, breweries and restaurants, and not far to drive if you want to explore further or take a tour. It was a peaceful and relaxing location, with a pool to cool off after a long hard day of sampling what the region has to offer, plus some local sweet wine was in our room to enjoy. We highly recommend staying here, and if we ever come back (we will!), this is where we’ll book to stay.

What a beautiful , quiet, quaint and refreshingly clean place to stay. Great room that was well appointed, close to the wineries and other facilities. Thank-you for a relaxing stay.. There was a complimentary sip of wine, chocolates and the most comfy bed.

Thistle Hill is so peaceful and pretty, the grounds are stunning and the rooms are gorgeous, spacious and comfortable with absolutely everything you will need. Jo was a super friendly host and incredibly helpful. We loved our experience and will be back.

We were fortunate enough to stay at the Thistle Hill guest house for the October long weekend. It was, without a doubt, one of the most spectacular locations the Hunter Valley has to offer. Generously sized rooms, enormous TV, a kitchen any chef would be thrilled with and a beautiful outdoor area, including a wonderful pool. In a word, sublime. Thank you Jo, we will be back

I recently celebrated a birthday and invited my extended family to stay in the 8 bedroom house. Each room was very comfortable and private and there were plenty of spaces to get together around the home. The grounds are well maintained and we loved the fact that we could bring our dogs. Although there was no common lounge room (only dining room), we used the Pavillon area if we wanted to play games. Everyone had a lovely time.

The country character and comfort. It’s a self check in with no hassles. The wrap around varanda, the gardens, the interior comfort and spotless cleanness is number one in Hunter and many other holiday stay that I had (in 5 stars). If you like a true country style decor and comfort than this is must stay. There isn’t breakfast facilities 🥲 but you’ll have from comfortable bed and pillows, fluffy towels (with extras at your disposal), tea and coffee making, a little local liquor to warm up on cold nights, all quality toiletries, pay tv and the most quiet place you’ll ever get besides the birds singing and the sound of the soft wind against the the tree branches.

Thistle Hill Guesthouse is perfect for a family getaway, beautiful individually furnished rooms, all with luxurious amenities and own bathrooms, the big group kitchen/dining area was perfect for breakfast together then lots of other areas to utilise for all age ranges in a family group. We chose to have a chef do main meals and have a decorator do setup along with a fabulous local photographer who came and photographed our relaxed time together, then the rest was up to us to enjoy our rare family time together. In these crazy busy times this was a very rare chance to take stress off and relax in this peaceful location for a few days together as a family group. Was perfect!

My son & I just had wonderful stay at Thistle Hill Guest House, our 2 bedroom cottage was absolutely perfect for us & our sunset view from the cottage with a wine or two was breath taking. Beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need or want. Highly recommend it for couples, friends & families with little ones, 5 stars from us.
