這一片最好的酒店，沒有之一，但衹能開車到達，前台熱情，餐廳服務相當滿意 餐廳和泳池記得預訂，否則可能會沒位置

Rapport qualite/prix pas au niveau de ce qu'on attend d'un 5 étoiles. Nous avons réservé un package nuit + dîner au restaurant etoile + petit déjeuner. Pour remettre du contexte : le lieu a beaucoup de cachet, ils ont construit une extension moderne derrière le château. Il nous a été attribué l'un de ces chambres neuves. Super sur le papier sauf qu'ils venaient de finir l'aménagement le jour même donc : sol poussiéreux avec des traces blanches de plâtres. L'odeur extrêmement desagrable de peinture et celle de la mousse stabilisee dans le couloir. Et les détails qui sont pénibles dans un 5 étoiles : une lumière verte au plafond qui éclairé la chambre la nuit, une extraction d'air qui fait un boucan du diable et la chambre qui donne sur un trou du golf à 10 metres avec des gens donc en face. Côté spa, le lieu est très chouette mais la encore des détails qui ne doivent pas en être dans un 5 étoiles : des buses qui ne fonctionnent pas dans le jacuzzi, du carrelage pas jointé qui commencent a se deteriorier ... Heureusement arrivé l'heure du dîner et la on sépare le contenu des assiettes du service : Mention spéciale au barman, cocktail super ! Et le dîner au akleaf à été délicieux ! Waouhhh succulent mais alors le service n'est pas au niveau d'1 restaurant étoilé avec de multiples erreurs de commande dont pas le bon plat servit !!!!! Et une récitation des plats au pas de course, sans aucun contact client sympathique mettant en valeur le travail de la cuisine. Cherry on the cake : le petit déjeuner absolument pas au niveau d'1 5 étoiles, n'ont pas tous les produits mais ne l'annonce pas, on oublié des choses dans assiettes. Service pas attentif. Pour conclure, bien sûr l'endroit est superbe, la chambre grande, etc. Nous économisons toute l'année pour nous payer un week-end comme celui ci et ce genre de détails qui n'en est pas vu le tarif gâchent le plaisir de passer une journée hors du temps. Nous avons déjà été dans des 5 étoiles nous laissant des étoiles dans les yeux par l'experience client, et la nous repartons juste en nous disant que c'etait un peu cher pour ce que c'était.

Myself and my husband visited Boringdon Hall for our 10 year wedding anniversary which was a surprise booking (by my husband). He had researched a hotel that was fairly local to ourselves (SE Cornwall) that had a spa and suites available. We initially stayed in the Wellness Suites (Oct 2023) which were very impressive but we had a few (fairly substantial) issues with our stay, fortunately after speaking with a manager these were rectified. We then revisited in November and stayed in the Royal Suite, and cannot find a single fault about our stay. We received a really warm welcome at reception and appreciated the welcome drinks (Mulled Wine) we had also additionally booked the Festive afternoon tea which was superb, one of the best afternoon tea experiences I’ve had. All the staff at the hotel were very attentive. We did have to knock on the office door when we visited the spa to gain someone’s attention after standing in the lobby for several minutes, and we would have preferred a member of the spa staff to show us the facilities as it took wandering to find the quiet rooms and additional areas that were further from the poolside, you can also access the Spa Restaurant directly from the spa which would’ve been helpful to know as we could’ve gone straight to breakfast from the spa as w had seen others have done. These are small things to point out that could hopefully be rectified for other guests in the future. Our room was exemplary. It was situated in the main house which is such a wonderful old building. The suite itself is accessed via a staircase (this was not an issue whatsoever to us) and the bathroom within the suite accessed via another small staircase. We loved the quirks of the room. The mini bar was a great addition. And the hot tub had fantastic views across the town and over to Dartmoor, such a great addition. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve slept in when staying in a hotel and we did not hear a noise from any other part of the hotel during our stay. Dinner in the Mayflower Brasserie was great, the staff did have to be reminded to bring my husbands wine over, and this unfortunately happened on both trips but such a small point that it didn’t deter us from enjoying our meal. Breakfast was fantastic the staff at breakfast during both stays were always extremely attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We cannot wait to stay again.

Amazing history, staff, spa, experience ! 2nd visit and will come back again in the summer :) First time was a spa day with my mum in the summer , beautiful surroundings and excellent treatments ! The second was a surprise Christmas night stay with my parents and we all loved everything about it ! Treatments again and the food was 5 star . Sally

This place is just amazing, we had the most amazing two nights away here and couldn’t fault a thing. The staff were friendly, helpful and just lovely to have a chat with. The spa is out of this world and the treatments were by far the best I’ve even had. I run my own beauty business so can be hard to please at spas but they were 5 star. We had a suite which was fantastic, we loved the layout as it felt like we had our own little house. We also ate in the mayflower restaurant on the first night and the food was spectacular. Thank you so much for everything it was just want we needed and will definitely be back

A lot of things are very good here. Rooms are nice, staff are great. However, I feel that the room service is not up to scratch at all. A very limited menu and the smallest burger i have seen for a while was overcooked and without the bacon that was supposed to be with it. Also didn’t bring the drink I ordered. The food in the restaurant was good but being charged for tap water? Really?

Excellent from start to finish. All staff were so polite and really made our trip. The spa facilities were incredible. Everything you could think of. Our favourite bit was the outside jacuzzi that connected to the hydro pool - so relaxing. The added sample (try me) serums were also such a nice touch to someone who doesn’t get to experience luxury items often!!

Absolutely fabulous stay in the gorgeous hotel and spa. Staff, food and spa facilities are excellent. Couldn’t fault anything! The room itself was very spacious and absolutely spotless. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff who were the right level of attentive.

We had a gift of Sunday Lunch bought for us .Fabulous grounds and a lovely welcome and we sat in the Restaurant and was served a fabulous meal of roast beef with all the trimmings ,also we both had a truly scrumptious chocolate brownie with ice cream .Great service and a beautiful and lovely setting .

The old Manor House (actually a castle) is beautiful for fans of local history. There are pockets of luxury and when they do it well it’s great, but so inconsistent in standards. The hotel reception is warm and welcoming - the spa welcome is just poor: the spa itself ran out of towels. The beds outside are old and dated and have no comfy mattresses - the rattan is old. The app takes at least 20 mins and quite often doesn’t work at all. The food was the most disappointing- we ate in the mayflower. There was so few people there and they made many errors including serving the wrong food and then leaving the meals find whilst it was rectified. The bar staff in the main room at the house did get it right and nothing too much trouble. The lady who did the massage was also excellent. To top it all off the car park has flooding in the drains and you have to wade through a shallow pool of water to get to your car. The iced lattes were just cold coffee with ice - no syrup or flavour. So why 3 / 5 - because a lot of people are trying to keep the standard - the grounds man came and told he was cutting the grass and apologised for the noise in advance. Having travelled the country and stayed at country hotels - this is ok, but no more for the price.

Best hotel spa we have stayed to date ....clean modern and every member of staff was polite and very helpfull . Food outstanding and drinks were refreshing ! Pool areas hot tubs were well maintained and our queensize bed was very comfy Couldnt fault anything at all We will be returning !

Just returned after a 3 night stay to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Initially booked 2 nights but loved it here so much we extended another night. Absolutely worth 5 stars, the hotel is stunning, we stayed in one of the wellness suites which was just beautiful. Cannot fault a thing, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, especially James in the bar who makes the best cocktails. Also Issy, was extremely pleasant and friendly. We ate in the Brasserie all 3 nights, the food was exceptional as were the breakfasts. Treated ourselves to Afternoon Tea which was simply delicious. The spa is fantastic, we were blessed with glorious weather so spent our days lounging in the sun, felt like we were abroad! We’ve left feeling relaxed and extremely happy, Will definitely return again soon.

Beautiful surroundings and a lovely room on the ground floor. The room was newly decorated and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Just a couple of points, we asked for atop up of tissues in the room, which never came, and the breakfast staff were not observant enough to clear the table of dirty plates. This was a problem on a small table, so for the last 2 mornings we sat at a table for 4, so that the plates could be stacked up without taking up room! The food at dinner could have been hotter when served. My burger was cool, so I wouldn't order it again. Otherwise the cooking was lovely, the lemon sole was beautifully done.

I’m not giving a review, to my dinner which was excellent, it is to an up and coming meal, I have booked a dinner for 3 on the 25 May, but want to change that. I have sent 8 emails, one each day since booking with all the details of what I want to do. I have received no response, so today I decided to call and confirm those changes nothing. It just rings out after at least 4 minutes. Tried to ring the main hotel number nothing! What the hell is going on? I will keep trying but hey? This has a star.
