Being 15 mins walk this was cheaper than many of the seafront hotels. The grounds and pool are were good and felt like a 4 star resort, well maintained, clean. Friendly helpful reception. Good atmosphere. 2 big pools, one quiet one near the French music. Predominant French and all the entertainment is in French. I speak French and went to one of the evening ‘spectacles’. Most people in the room were rolling around in laughter; the ‘comedy’ was not to my taste though! My room was very spacious and had lots of potential but IMHO was let down being an interior design disaster: so bare with a cheap tatty melamine faced furniture. It was so bare it looked like someone had taken the furniture. I didn’t eat at the restaurant but had bright harsh lighting reminding me more of a motorway cafe. As a base to explore the island it was great. It’s near to the best beaches on the island - playa del Papagayo. Hire a car for 30 euro per day. Go there and explore the island. It’s really grown on me….

Where do I start. 45 mins for a drink in the pool bar or main hotel bar. Restaurant food luke warn every night and food on the floor from precious night. Smell of sewage in the hotel and when all these issue were raised with hotel management nothing changed. Lastly, the hotel entertainment was 1 star, most of the people in the bar having to play cards with their family as the only way to pass the time. We holiday three times a year and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Speaking to other residents throughout our holiday there wasn’t one family that didn’t feel the same way. Anyone thinking of booking this holiday, please do not come here. I could also post more issues but I really cannot be bothered. I’m sure you have the jist, £10,000 pounds wasted

I would give this wonderful hotel 6 stars if I could! This is our 11th visit & we love it so very much! Staff were so helpful- especially the ‘guest experiences team.’ They helped me rebook a flight & find a doctor when my daughter was ill. I can’t thank them enough! The rooms are simple, immaculately clean, lots of wood, blue Canarian tiles, super comfy beds & crisp white linen. Fab comfy pillows too. Wonderful nights sleep too! Lovely bathrooms, good powerful showers & very nice ( new) bathroom amenities. We recommend rooms with either a pool / sea view. Our balconies - we had 2 x adjacent suite rooms had the most superb views. It was a huge pleasure to have morning coffee on my balcony. Nespresso machine & water in room & a birthday cake, bunting and balloons on my birthday. Thank you!!! Food is pretty much a work of art. We opted for half board at the Yaiza buffet. It might be the same dining room but dinner was NEVER the same. Lots of variety, different show cooking. Every evening was a dining pleasure, every breakfast a delight. The Thalasso Spa is a joy. We had facials, massage etc. Therapists are amazing. Facilities are beautiful. Two things that we would like changed! Prior to the pandemic the ‘waterways’ surrounding the hotel had huge goldfish in / perhaps they were Koi? They seemed happy - there were lots of babies - lots of very healthy fish. PLEASE bring them back. I appreciate they may be expensive to look after them but watching them was joyful. I don’t think with the free flowing water & huge amount of space they had that it was in any way cruel to have them there? Second: BRING BACK KIKO!! We are told KIKO, Hooky, Cookie have been RETIRED?? No!!! My daughters have loved these guys since 2010- the new characters are not a shadow of our favourite duck! And honestly from Easter onwards - you will have heartbroken children asking ‘Where is KIKO?’ Bring him back - you slipped him into retirement without asking your most faithful and long term guests. And sorry - but that’s not good enough! Once you’ve brought back KIKO and the fish - we will get back for another stay in June xxx

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a fabulous time. Initially we were upgraded, however, this was to a room close to an air conditioning unit and quite noisy during the day so we asked to be moved. The receptionists (Desiree and Sabrina) were so helpful and the next day we moved to one of the rooms on the ground floor overlooking the sea. It was such a beautiful aspect and we were so pleased with it. I found the bed a little hard, but was solved when the staff put extra blankets underneath for me. The cleaning staff were excellent and everything was spotless. Around the whole hotel but especially the rooms. We found the food absolutely brilliant, there was such a great choice at every meal and although some basics stayed the same (such as basic salad) there was always a change of the main meals. You could always get various pasta dishes and chips but all the other things changed on a regular basis, there really was something for everyone. There was always a choice of fish or various meats, different salad options and sometimes a special live cooking experience including kebabs and paella. Deserts were plentiful and the fruit delicious. Coffee was available at breakfast and then after lunch and the evening meal, you would go up to a separate area to sit and have a coffee or another drink. We enjoyed doing that. At lunch and evening meal there was wine and beer on tap plus plenty of soft drinks. The pool bar opens at 10am and served drinks all day and often snacks. This is where the entertainment was in the evening which was enjoyed by many. The animation team were brilliant, they offered games during the day and often did the evening entertainment. They weren’t pushy but were good fun and passionate. We often got sunbeds by the sea and never were disappointed as others have mentioned. You could go up and get drinks and bring them down in sturdy plastic cups. It was an excellent system. It was a good 40 mns walk to the centre of Playa Blanca but we knew this when booking and enjoyed this walk. We occasionally got a taxi back, plenty of those. The positive of being a little way out is that it was quite secluded and we loved being so close to the sea. All the staff were so lovely, we got thoroughly looked after and any query was immediately dealt with. The only negatives I would say is that there is no fridge in the room which would have been so beneficial. Plus, the safe being 28 euros a week I think is a little expensive. The Wifi was awful, even in reception it often wasn’t available. The wine was average quality but it is all inclusive so you can’t expect high quality (you could buy a bottle if you wanted). We found the coffee was a little sweet coming from the machines and got around this by having black coffee and adding coffee mate we bought locally. This was our personal preference. Overall, we found this excellent quality for the money we spent. We had an enjoyable 12 days and would highly recommend and

Very comfortable and distinctively stylish hotel in Playa Blanca. Excellent facilities at the hotel and it is ideally located close to good restaurants and shops at the marina and only a short walk to a lovely beach and the town centre. We have stayed here before and will do so on our next visit to the Canaries.

Mynd Hotel I was a solo traveler for 30 days in November at reception you book yourselves in on the desk reception will help you or you can do it on line. You get a key card for your door and the electric comes on when you put your card in the slot behind the curtains close to the door you will be given a pool towel which is 10 Euros deposits you can request a kettle and you can ask for an ironing board which is bought to your room on request let them know when you are finished with it. you are given a 27 euro per person per day credit form on a card each time you use it you are given a receipt which you must sign and your card is signed by a member of the bar staff you spend your credit at the bar or the pool bar for food and drinks it is not transferable at the end of your holiday all the above is for half board. I go bed and breakfast so no credit is applied on 30 days like mine I opted to have my room cleaned every four days for which my card was credited with 290 euros which I could spend at the bars but not on food The restaurant can be quite busy the food is quite varied a good selection to suit most people but don't expect sausage or beans. there are many double tables where solo people can sit away from the busy familys with children but overall is quite well run. I have never tried evening meals so cannot comment on this. One tip buy a mug for your hot drinks in the restaurant save you going back for another drink regarding the pools there is a relaxed quiet pool area one side and a children's and family side you can can get your snacks and drinks also change your towels and there is a laundry room where you can also fill your water bottles. Generally there is not much bed reserving accept by me looking for a a quiet corner somewhere. There is a gym and a spa where you can get fresh water there is also a room can have a shower and store your cases.There are customer relations stuff available for any problems but one thing I'd like to point out there can be a queue at the bor sometimes with people wanting tea coffee cocktails or shorts or pints of beer these all takes time to do hence you will queue As you go out the reception door turn right to the beach and the supermarket takes about 10 minutes there is also a bus service every 30 minutes one goes to the marina and one goes to the lighthouse it goes around in a circle and it is every 30 minutes. This is my experience as a Solo traveler. Overall a very nice hotel kept very clean the Gardens are neat and the staff are there if you need anything There is entertainment most nights Enjoy your holiday.
