My family and I have been long term Hampton/Hilton customers. We always target Hampton hotels when traveling. We booked a room at the Troy University Hampton Inn in late May for a stay a month later in late June. 48 hours before our reservation we received a call from the Hampton Area Manager, Kim. Kim stated that a mistake was made and our rate was about to increase nearly $100 in total due to an incorrect discount rate being applied a month prior during the initial reservation. I understand mistakes happen, but as long term Hampton customers, I would expect the “Area Manager” to correct the situation appropriately. Unfortunately, Kim offered us the most unprofessional conversation I’ve experience in my life. Rude, demeaning and aggressive are the best adjectives to describe how we were treated, 48 hours before our check in. At the end of the conversation, we were told by Kim that she has the authority to cancel our reservations involuntarily, which is what she did. Years of loyalty to Hampton/Hilton has been tarnished by one unprofessional Area Manager, Kim. We will no longer be using this Hampton location, or any others that fall in the jurisdiction of the tyrant we spoke to. I highly recommend staying at a different hotel in town, you may be treated as customers instead of a moneybag, like Kim treated us.
