Booked to stay in the camping field for two nights, on NYE, however we booked a table in the restaurant for 7pm and when we returned to the bar after the pub was packed solid. Too many people so we went back to our van. To say we booked on the field and booked a meal you'd think we'd get a seat afterwards.aldo the entertainment was poor, no atmosphere at all

Had a gorgeous Boxing Day lunch with my family. Cosy pub with homely food - they served huge portions of pie with a mountain of fresh vegetables. They serve great ales and have lovely friendly staff. The scenery is beautiful - what more could you want? Highly recommend

Nestled in such a lovely village area, the food here was good and the Breakfast was divine. The rooms were cosy, clean and comfortable. Check-in was a little unfriendly and informal unfortunately but the staff generally were very friendly. We shall be back!

We had a very nice stay here as we stopped over for one night while in the area. While there are a couple of things that could be improved upon (like the reception you get when you check in here which was not welcoming really at all!), it was overall a very good experience. The staff in the morning were nice, the food was decent, the atmosphere buzzing and the room we had was clean, cozy and offered everything you needed. A successful visit.

This was a one night stop over and it is a typical village old pub with no frills and basic accommodation. That takes nothing from the fact that it offers good value, together with a wide selection of tasty pub grub in a convivial environment and a well stocked bar with its own real ale, worthy of a visit in its own right.

Got to know the Cropton team and some of the local residents. Warm and friendly crowd who clearly enjoy working with one another. The hotel was warm and comfortable; the room was small, but adequate and very well kept. The limited dinner menu was adequate and the food was well prepared and served hot by cheerful waiting personnel. No hesitation in recommending and visiting again should the opportunity arise.

We were staying nearby and found a trip to the New Inn on Groupon. We had a tour of the brewery with Jayden (or Josh, sorry I can't remember!), which was very interesting and well presented. We had 3 glasses of beer each at the end of the tour (1/3 pints) so we could sample their ales, and also a 2 course lunch. The food was amazing - I had the Pate, followed by Fish and Chips. Both dishes were really good and the portions were very generous. My husband had Garlic Mushrooms and the Steak Pie, again, delicious and the portions were generous - the pie was particularly good. A lovely trip and well worth a visit.

Went on the Buy a gift brewery tour, plus overnight stay and meal deal. Probably on of the best deals we have had for a while. Had tour with several beers included, followed be a 3 course evening meal, which was excellent quality pub food. Several beers in the bar on draught, all local , good choice Inc ales, lager and cider. Good mix of locals and visitors. Room was spotlessly clean , comfy bed. Breakfast was again very good quality produce. Will definitely visit again

We had a Red Letter Day voucher and did the brewery tour which was very good. We had a set menu for dinner. This was three courses with a good range of starters, limited choices for the main meal and puddings which we didn't sample. The food was good but the vegetarian choice was a veggie hotpot served with veggies on the side. I'm not a vegetarian but chose this as a healthy option. It was a poor choice. The room was lovely and my husband enjoyed breakfast. Very friendly pub, excellent bar and waitress service and a comfortable atmosphere. Good value for money.
