Host and staff very welcoming nice small hotel I stayed in the court yard studio self contained with a big double bed Big TV on suit shower kitchen furnished to upto date style very comfortable breakfast was included with a variety of choices a great place as a base to come back to after a day of exploring

Lovely welcome & very happy stay at The Bell. No hassle just left alone to enjoy your stay. Fabulous rooms. Breakfast is awesome & the staff really do go the extra mile. You are only 8 miles away from Seaham & Sunderland. We really enjoyed our stay & certainly will return.

Returned from 2 day stay and really enjoyed the experience, a warm welcome, bright comfortable rooms and a great breakfast as well, worth a try, great place for visiting Durham and coastal areas, not forgetting lots of northern hospitality to be had.

Stayed at The Bell for an event. Staff at the guest house were lovely. Couldn’t do enough. Special shout out to Kim who was amazing. Grouting and shower in general needs attention but room was comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Lovely accommodation, friendly staff and amazing breakfast! The perfect location to stay after a day hunting for sea glass in Seaham on North and Vane Tempest beaches… For great restaurants, at an easy distance from The Bell, visit the chippy - Gills - or have some tapas at The Lamp Room on the seafront in Seaham (we ate at both on our two night stay)… Both are just over the road from the Tommy statue - which sits in a beautifully maintained and respectful garden, amongst benches and poppies marking thanks for our fallen heroes… We also had drinks to escape the drizzle in Londonderry’s pub and the Coalface in Seaham, super friendly pubs - very welcoming locals. Would love to go back one day, but given the old fella has just driven us back today won’t ask for a little while - bit of a trek from Kent but well worth it! Now after a 7hr drive home and two days doing the ‘Zombie’ stoop on the beach searching for glass, I’m going to lay on the floor and straighten myself out…cheers Seaham for a fab weekend!

What a lovely place to stay. Hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful, as were other staff members. The room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Tea making facilities and a hairdryer in the room. Breakfast was tasty too. I would highly recommend a stay here.
