My 5 is based on my putting Microtel in the budget line. We have stayed here probably 5 times in the last 10 years when visiting the area for high school mini reunions. Previous stays were in the 4 + evaluation as the standard queen room is small . This trip we went for the suite as we were going to stay 2 nights and spend a little more time in the room. We selected the top floor to stay away from dogs and to add quietness. It was very quiet ! Cleanliness was 4.75 ( I can always find something for which I can deduct ) but I left my full tip amount. Bed was soft but we slept well.Bathroom was big enough with decent counter space. Towels were good. Shower ok. Tub floor was just a little slick- not bad-but not an anti-slip surface. A hook on the back of the door would be helpful. A soap dish for the counter would help. This is a mini suite with a half wall separation between bed and couch. A thin end table along the end of the couch to set a drink on would be nice. Tv is smaller than most other places we have stayed but ok. A pen and paper would have been a nice addition. All the staff we came in contact with were efficient and personable. Breakfast was typical of this range of motels. Hot items are pre cooked, but were different each morning. Cold item selection was average. Making reservations is a must. There are only 2 motels within a 30 + mile range. They were 90% full both nights. Book direct with Wyndham / Microtel not a third party. For $ 128. inc tax per night ( AAA discount ) this was an excellent value.

This was an excellent facility that meant all of my needs for my 3 day stay. Good location, great service, and friendly professional staff. The facility was clean, all amenities available. If I was to suggest something - they need to add a couple items to their fitness room - some dumbbells, mats, etc.

When checking in, I asked for a quiet room away from elevators, she said the only room available was room 212. It turns out it was directly across from the elevators and guest laundry (hours of use posted 7AM-9PM). Someone was doing their laundry at 5AM and the clothes in the dryer was making a lot of noise. I called the front desk, she checked on it, said the workers that stay there wash at all different hours. She was totally unaware of the hours posted for guest laundry. She did offer me another room down the hall (206). I said, I was told room 212 was the only one available - “the only one available for the room type reserved”. So at 5:30AM I’m in my robe moving to another room. It was not a good experience.

We did not receive the room we reserved. We reserved a double queen room and when we checked in were given a queen one bed suite with a fold out sofa and told we were upgraded. They had no way to give us the correct room as they were overbooked. The same thing happened for each of the three other rooms traveling with us. The pull out sofa which we were forced to use was dusty and had debris under the mattress which triggered an asthma attack for my child. Staff tried to help the situation and her manager’s only solution was to sell us a second room which was only available for one night of our two night stay.
